There were two occasions (once per half, once on the left and once on the right), where he got the ball under pressure facing backwards being heavily marked by someone, turned his man effortlessly, and charged away with speed and skill. The one in the 2nd half was the one where he left Kanté for dead.
That's the thing Sterling does best. That's the thing that very few players on the planet can do. That's the thing that meant that during the world cup in 2018 he was getting more heavily marked than Kane.
If he can start doing that more frequently then we're in for a lot of joy.

Fucked up chance aside, it was great to see after some time from him that he's still able to cut and run through opponents' midfields. Was actually begging for him to pass when the options were on as I just wasn't confident he can keep it as well as he used to, given his form, but made some great decisions with the ball. He can be better, but he showed real purpose.
Always world class when plays Right Winger..
Even today.. he didn't score - but was phenomenal during the movements..
Sometimes on the left wing he scores, but his overall game isn't as good as we would all want..

There was a much better attitude/approach from him today,i agree.Super today. A fighter.
I also enjoyed his attacks in the second half,finally showing some purpose again.Hopefully he carries that into midweek.
