Mullocks tweet aligns with MCRJon post saying he'll meet up with us there.

Can't see this not happening tbf.

These dippers don't compromise negotiate or meet in the middle when selling a valuable asset to a rival. Yes it's annoying as a buyer when you want to shave a few quid of the fee.

We really should have known this from the start certainly a number of posters on here knew they wouldn't sway from their tough position.

So what happens if we walk away?

But that's conceding all the power to Liverpool. 'Liverpool won't budge' - implying we should if we want to complete the deal.
What's wrong with saying 'City won't pay over the odds' - so Liverpool need to get realistic if THEY want to complete the deal?

If we enter into deals thinking the other side are an immovable object, we're doomed.

Sterling included for the Asian tour.

If a deal is done it will probably when both clubs are in Australia, medical etc.

Maybe City are looking at the situation and going "fuck Liverpool". Ultimately we can walk away from this deal at any point and leave them with a VERY unhappy player who they'll struggle to play in the first team and will have to let go for peanuts next summer.

I also think you can't underestimate the idea that there's serious bad blood between the clubs over the Milner free transfer. Some of us were saying a year ago that Milner had done a deal with them behind City's back and it has turned out to be the case.

I'd rather we as a club didn't behave like Barca or Madrid and simply pay whatever stupid fee is quoted - there's a time and a place for those kinds of deals and this isn't it.

It's also worth baring in mind that in the case of Sterling we are the ONLY club in for him. Liverpool will know that so for all this talk of how they're playing hardball, they are the ones who ultimately stand to lose a fuck of a lot. We can just move on to another target.

Didn't barca offer the amount Liverpool thought they wanted and what barca wanted to pay though first time of asking.

We think he is worth £40m they think £50m. That's the issue.

If we thought he was worth £50m the deal would already have been done.

From memory, LIverpool said they want about 80m, and I think Barca offered about 65m. Then they went into negotiations, with Liverpool and Barca both claiming a different fee! (higher and lower respectively).

Why do some of you people take a journalists figures as gospel.Never mind £40M + £4M for add ons.No fucker knows except those that need to know and certainly City over the last few seasons have kept the cards close to their chests. At this stage LFC will not be telling all and sundry unless an agreement cannot be reached and it appears that we are still in negotiations with one another.
Figures will only be divulged when and if an agreements can be finalised and I would bet it becomes one of those transfers where an amount will not be disclosed.

Liverpool have shown with Torres and Suarez they don't budge. This is dippers not Newcastle who you can negotiate with. We knew the fee was 50m they won't relent. I understand the need to try negotiate get the best deal for us but you can't with them they have shown that in the past bud.

We have too many hours into this deal. We will get him soon.
The lacking of the team is pace. Midfield and the left wing which we haven't managed to fill for 4 years.
Delph is a very good signing. He covers the ground quickly and with dinho will be a mobile and destructive pair.
Sterling is paramount. Turning defence in attack. Keeping full backs in there position in fear of his pace.
People flapping on here need to think we've got a rested Yaya to add as well.

I doubt all but a handful of people at City know the real figures, let alone journalists. The only people that really need to know are the negotiators. I can understand it's not rocket science for journo's to guess a reasonable figure, but you're absolutely right, it's a guess.
I'd even go so far as to say Pelligrini himself might not be aware of the actual figures involved.

I don't think it will be for peanuts if he isn't sold in this window,If the price goes down in a future window in the next 6-12 months it won't be by much especially if Chelsea and Arsenal are part of the bidding. They was a meeting yesterday from reports at fenway park with Henry Gordon and Warner are supposed to be relaxed about it and are willing to sell in january if you do not meet the £50 million valuation.

They did budge on Suarez (if accounts are to be believed).
