I think that's fair comment.

Having watched a lot of the French League, I think Sterling would have ripped it up there.

Whether he is AS good a player as Hazard we will have to wait & see, but he's at least got the potential for that I would imagine.
Agree completely regards potential mate, he's got enough of that to be a future world star.

Just feel Hazard is rapidly becoming one of the worlds best players currently.

And if we get him for less than the full asking price will you still be whinging that we didnt panic and pay more than we had to?

FFS.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm whinging. I'm not overly bothered about us signing him anyway. I just think posturing over a few million is pointless in this case because we will probably have to end up paying the full whack for him anyway. We may as well just get on with it if we are so desperate to sign him. They'll only end up giving the money to Southampton anyway.

I know I tend to go from one extreme to another, but I've rated Sterling since almost his very first game. He's got that burst of acceleration that can take him past players, and we're a team that are often encamped around an opponents penalty area and go from side to side. He's exactly what we need, a player running at defenders on the edge of their penalty area.

The five best players in the world at that are Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Robben and Hazard. Sterling isn't far behind. There's no one at City who is as good at one on one dribbling

It will be a fantastic signing for MCFC. Just hope we can complete
This is how i see it, how many times have we been camped around the box and failed to find out a killer pass, this guy will run at them and keep them even deeper.

If we sign him for £45m instead of £50m the posturing that you have been criticising has been very worthwhile.

Get a grip mate.

City did need to strengthen last season because Chelsea did - we still need to strengthen just to catch up on what Chelsea did last season - it's not rocket science.

Why would he not criticise City's transfer dealings? They've been poor for a while now, and have been completely overshadowed by the rest of the top 4.

I suppose you would be one of the ones who would have thought that Delph is a better player than Schweinsteiger just because we signed him?

City need to strengthen a lot - Chelsea don't (barr possibly a striker, but their system means they only need to play one - and they obviously believe that Falcao - who was one of the top strikers in the world 18 months ago - will be able to regain his form)

Just because some people aren't deluded, and can notice that we do actually need to strengthen when possibly other teams don't, doesn't make them a bad City fan, it just means they're possibly more football savvy than you.

No it just means that you haven't read the details of the thread & what I was replying to or what my opinion is, in previous posts, & what that wum posted, & have jumped in & backed a wind up merchant who is deliberately putting a downer on everything City do.

I can't be arsed going through it all, but he's full of shit & his reasons don't stand up.

Just reading a fragment of it & assuming I mean something I don't mean, as your opening line implies, is no use to anybody.

£45 million bid is the talk today.

We need to get this done soon, Sterling going on Liverpool's pre-season overseas tour would be a bit of a disaster IMO.

Sterling has clearly wanted to come here for months, having a full pre-season with us is important.

Well, not really seeing as we're heading to the same country!

I understand why people get agitated but the reality is that, in the level of the football atmosphere in which we now live, transfers are very complex. I've been lucky enough to be ITK on a few transfers, some of which I've shared on here, some I've had to wait a while before talking about and some, because of the source, I keep to myself.

Big ones can take months from setting up the deal to completion and all sorts of hazards lie in wait. For instance, our policy is that we will only pay the contracted agent and then only up to a certain level. If anyone crawls out the woodwork demanding money that we don't feel they're entitled to then they get told to do one. If that kills the deal (Isco definitely and, I believe, Hazard) then so be it. Van Persie would have been ours but either Mancini refused to sanction the sale of Balotelli to PSG or Mario refused to go. Players like Delph and De Rossi simply didn't want to move. Agents play games and so do clubs.

The point is that you can be as clever or on the ball as you like as a club or DoF but that's often not enough. It's a world populated by sharks and shysters and a lot is in the lap of the gods.

Hi Prestwich, appreciate your comments and thanks for your reply mate! ;)

Ah, well. If so (and I can't be bothered to go back and read the whole thing) then I apologise - I hate a wum as much as the next blue.

I did only see a little snippet of it, and I dislike it when people on here don't just let people voice their opinion, even if negative - but if he's just wumming then he can do one.

Soz!

But he'd be with the Liverpool squad not ours?

It'd be a very uncomfortable and awkward trip for Sterling with Liverpool given the last few months, especially the last week.

Honestly I'd feel a little sorry for Raheem if he has to go on the Liverpool tour, this should have been done way before the pre-season tours.
