Liverpool fan here. Gutted to see him go. He's second only to Messi in being able to receive the ball and beat anyone in tight spaces. Imo he has the potential to be England's greatest ever player if he sorts out his finishing. He is genuinely a monster, don't let the last half of last season being played out of position fool you. He has a better record than Messi and Ronaldo at the same age.

Think we all saw how good he is, when played properly with Sturridge and Suarez.
Think he'll be brilliant alongside Kun, Silva, Toure etc.

Both sides could argue that they've "won". City get the player they wanted and Liverpool get the £50m they wanted.

When push come to shove what's more important, money in the bank or players out on the pitch? Liverpool also got their valuation on Suarez last season and went from title challengers to Europa League in the space of 12 months. City have more money than the other 19 clubs in the Premier League combined but we finished 2nd last year because we didn't have the right personnel out on the pitch.

Sterling isn't worth £50m but if he is one of the missing pieces of the jigsaw that allows us to wrestle back the title he will be worth every penny.

For Liverpool, £50m softens the blow of losing their best player but spend it like they spent the money they got for losing their previous best player and they might as well have got a fiver for him.
Liverpool aren't getting £50 million though. If the deal is £45million plus add ons then by the time we've paid QPR their percentage it's looking more like 38million - or a Benteke if you're their Transfer Commitee..
another season fighting it out for a place in the Europa league beckons for the soft cunts.

After QPR's sell on fee they will only be left with £40m and now they will get rinsed for Benteke or Lacazette because Villa and Lyon know they have the money.

Just saw a post on RAWK saying that they've signed Firminho, Clyne and Gomez, plus Ings' compensation and Milner's huge signing on fee all with the Sterling money.

Completely deluded.

They're getting £36 million and will spend £32.5 million on Benteke.

Pardon my ignorance but how does a sell on clause work with add ons? Do QPR get a percent of the £45m because the full amount isn't guaranteed or do they get a percent of the £50m?

Have we signed Akinfenwa as well?

I think my stance on pogba is well known, I'd also hazard a guess you, like a few others, you over estimate his ability as a 'ball winning midfielder'... Then you go and throw nasri in the mix lol..

Silva will play more central, but in a 433 formations... Should we get KDB, which looks likely, we'll set up as so, also depending on the signings..

.............yaya....dinho...........
.................pogba............
.......sterling...........silva......
..................Kun..................

Alternatively.

............pogba.......dinho.............
......sterling....................KDB.......
....................silva.....................
..................Aguero.................

I think Nasri will be with us next season and expect he will get plenty of game time. You think he is gone with Jovetic and Dzeko?
Agree that we will unlikely play that 6 as it is very attacking and would expect a defensive option to play, one of the Ferns.

I see Pogba as a complete box to box midfielder and expect YaYa to continue to play the orchestrator role and pick the ball from defense.

I put that on paper as it is crazy the attacking/ midfield quality we could have and that's with potential KDB, Navas and Bony options also.

The future is bright, the future is blue!!

Firminho - £29m
Clyne - £12.5m
Gomez - £3.5m
Ings - £5m roughly
Milner ???
Total - £50m

sterling is £45m - 20% = £36m

They will almost certainly get a cut of addons too if QPR drew up the contract properly. Otherwise clubs would avoid paying addons by selling for a penny with 45m of certain addons. An extreme example but the principle remains. Most addons arent guaranteed to they are a risk but you can make then nigh on certain things if you need to.

I think this Sterling deal done now. Sterling has done well in getting Liverpool back to the table, if you like his tactics or not, what is does show is that Rogers cannot not manage big names and is not respected by the big players.

I personally don't like Rogers I think he is a poor manager who slags everyone off then when he is given money he buys poor players. I hope Stoke smash them again on the first game of the season.

Sterling will be quality for us bring the pace we need up front helping Sergio and Silva pulling the game from defence to attack very quickly.

Post from RAWK

"Imagine how Brendan must be feeling. He raised Sterling like a father, treated him with love, care, occasional stern words...just as a father of great talent would and this is how he gets repaid. Also spare a thought for Kenny who brought Sterling here. Otherwise Sterling would have been down in dumps somewhere in championship"

Can't tell if serious or not

We should all light a candle for poor wee Brenda(n) and, of course, "King Kenny"™. Tell you what, I'll start;

Brenda started to play him right wing back. Playing with them players in that position he was never going to improve. He needs to be playing champions league football now and he knows Liverpool are from it at the minute.
