Your hung up on one of many stats as being the measure of a player, but to answer your question. Not bothered as I want him to go for lacking in many other aspects of footballing ability.

All moot as he is going
I'm sorry Mosside but what many other aspects are lacking.

99% of posters on here don't rate him for missing sitters and for a poor final ball. The result of improving either is that his goals and assists go up. What do you rate him on, if not the fact that he misses sitters and has a poor final ball too often?

if its all moot as hes going why discuss anything about him? you appear fine to say he has been poor but wont explain why?

I've explained several times why I haven't rated Sterling and missing sitters wasn't a reason. I'm not going to repeat why, but if you search, I'm sure you will see.

As for this being discussed at length, it was you who initiated it with asking moot questions.

He's gone, I and others are happy about it and others aren't, that's what makes for an interesting forum.

New season beckons with new players to what's not to like?

He was always a player that divided opinion.
Don't disagree with your last two points,

Is this over yet ffs? Not that I have a bad word to say about him… just this dragging on is odd?
How's it odd?

Most major transfers take an age to go over the line

Fucking hell Jack had a release clause and it took untill a week before the season started

They agreed a fee with us less than 48 hours ago.....so now hes doing his medical....

Think his medical was last night. I’m not a fan of him wearing a Chelsea top until it’s announced.

Well people have judged him on 13 PLgoals and 6 assists, in just over 2000 minutes last season. And dont tell and they havent judged him on those stats , as they mostly criticise him for missing goals and his final ball.

So why can't they just say what they think would be OK the last two seasons? It's not a trick question.
His stats are fine and I've never said otherwise. Could they be better if his control/finishing was better, of course.

As I've already said, he has played a big part in our recent success and I wish him well for the future. I'll be sad to see him go but it is a move that suits all parties.

Not specifically you referring to Sterling as a failure, plenty of others on here have said he's been poor the last two seasons, so failure was probably the wrong word. I would counter that by saying he's been average when compared to his best. I just think you and others are holding him to different standards.

Let me ask you this , if its OK to judge Sterling on goals and assists as many on here do, what would be the level of goals and assists he would have to score for you to have wanted him to stay at City.
For me he could have remained at his exact level, taken less money and remained here...I didn't want him to go...but I didn't think he was worth the wages he was asking for in relation to the rest of the team at this present time going forward...I didn't think City should have let him run down his contract if they could get a solid return now, which I believe they have...

@sir baconface, the first time was a serious question. The second was really just a bit of a joke.

Nothing to do with stats at all btw, it was a follow-on from the earlier point, that no matter what his numbers were, he would be seen as not good enough for the side. I just questioned that with some hypothetical extreme numbers, that is all.
