A quick update on my Uncle. He's had a severe heart attack and they placed him in an induced coma. They started to bring him round in the early hours of this morning and against all the odds he's woken up.

Despite being a bit groggy he's now holding full conversations with family and doctors and remembers who he is, who they are but has no recollection of why he's in hospital. Whilst this is obviously fantastic news it's still very early days but fingers crossed he's definitely on the right track.

Oh and most important of all the main thing he remembers is that he's still a blue and hasn't woken up as a rag.

Cheers for all your messages, I'm sure he'll appreciate reading them if/when he comes back posting.

Cheers Blues - Chris

Hes a lucky man to get through it,best wishes.

Ps Tell him to keep away from the Yaya thread,he will have a relapse.

He's 59 and as far as I know he's had no problems previously. Occasional drinker & smoker but other than that he was/is fit and healthy.

He was posting on here at the time that it happened

Thanks nev,its just an area of interest for me.

BM has a lot to answer for...;-)

Where does he live? The reason I ask is that my daughter is a student paramedic in SW London and they attended a cardiac arrest last night where it was touch and go but they managed to get the victim's heart restarted.

That's great news by the way. Hope he goes on to make a full recovery.

Pass on my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
A good friend of mine and former forumite had similar a few years ago and a triple bypass to go with it. It's a long route back to full health but perfectly possible. He's now doing charity triathlons from being a full time drinker/smoker and all round reprobate so if he can manage it anyone can.

Chin up and look forward.

GD

Good lord, what thread? When Rammy gets back (hopefully soon) that could be his first thread 'Guess Which Thread Sent Me Over The Top and Win £50'!
