No, not that sort - go back to the xxx sites ;-)

I've just got back from holiday and had 2 random meetings with City supporters.

First one was in Heathrow airport where my 15 year old son was wearing his city top and this random 50+ year old guy came up and offered to shake his hand. I looked at him a bit warily (naturally) and he rolled up his sleeve to show a city tattoo so we had a chat with him for a few minutes before we headed to our hotel.

2nd one was in Universal studios when I was wearing my City top and a random argentinian started chatting about Tevez (luckily in English) and how he is now following City news and games.

It goes to show City supporters are some of the best around, I wonder how many other clubs supporters would greet a random stranger like that because they are wearing the team shirts?

Mind you, I think the guy I saw in the Brighton top in USA must have been hoping :-)

Any weird, out of nowhere, encounters with other Blues supporters somewhere else in the world happened to you?

I was in Amsterdam a few years ago and had my wallet stolen. It had everything is it, including train tickets to Eindhoven (where my 1p flights landed!) and every penny I had.

I was a bit stuck to say the least. I was sat outside the Bulldog, head in hands, without even a coin to call someone at home and get some money sent out, feeling pretty sorry for myself. I looked up and two lads were walking past - both wearing City shirts. I stopped them and explained my plight, telling them I was a City supporter, and they really looked after me. Took me for some lunch and a drink while the old lady Western Unioned me some money, let me use their phone etc. They were incredible to me, and I'll never forget it as long as I live. Because of that, I'd do anything to help out a fellow blue nowadays. In fact, those two lads restored my faith in humanity!

If you're reading lads, I love you. :) xxxx

Loads and Loads!!

I remember a few years logging on to this very site in a Brisbane (Australia) hostel and it remembered someone else's user name and logged me as them. Wish I could remember who it was.

The last one I had was in Amsterdam in November last year. I was on a stag do and was the only City fan on it (the rest were bolton fans and rags), we went to an Irish pub (I think) which was a cracking little pub. I wanted to watch the City game (we were playing burnley) and didn't wanna risk missing it so when evryone else moved on I stayed in the pub on my own to watch the game. Ended up befriending a fellow blue from Stretford who lived there (lucky bastard) and we had a good chat about all sports from the Welcome to Manchester poster to house prices and all sorts of crap. After the game he went off home but not before guiding me towards the ladies of the night and I was on my merry little way.

He said he had an Amsterdam Blues flag that I said I'd look out for, but in all honesty I'm not sure I'd know him from Adam if I saw him again

Seperate story but one that gets mentioned in our family was when my dad was on holiday a few years back with his City shirt on and some black dude walking past let on to him by saying 'Hello my blue brother'

Whilst in Valladoid around 2001 visiting my then girlfriends family, we saw a young girl about 12 in the playoff final away top crying her eyes out at the station on our way to get coffee, I made some comment to Elena that thats what City does to you, anyhow about 20 minutes later the same girl came over to us in the coffee shop, she'd overherd me sayng this, and the short version was that her dad a bit worse for wear had managed to get on the train to Barcelona without her.

Anyhow we got her a drink and a cake under the impression her dad would realise and get off at the next stop and come back, 3 trains latter it was clear this wasn't go to happen. The only number she could remember was her nans who wasn't answering.

She didn't want us to leave her with the police, so we decided balls to it, got us 3 tickets to barcelona whilst trying to get in touch with her familly on the way. Eventually we worked out that the only part of her number she didnt know was the dailing code for Knutsford (On a train pre web phones that was a challenge to find out by the way) Anyhow we got through to her mum explained what at happened, gave her my number to give to her day so we could meet up in Barcelona.

Anyhow we met him, he had been given a good old ear bashing of the misus, but he got us tickets to the Barcelona Zargoza match and let us stay at his apartment for a few days.

So we had a great weekend in Barcelona all down to one comment about a city shirt.
