If someone from Rangersland could answer?

What is it with this club?

They've been punished for spending money they didn't have and then moaned like fuck about it. To me it's cheating as they knew they couldn't cover their losses and instead of cutting back and at least trying to get on an even keel they carried on spending thus stopping the smaller SPL clubs from getting any success.

They continued to bleat and moan only to piss the Third Division and are doing the same again but after posting big fuck off losses want the players to take a pay cut.

Are the board creaming money off? There seems to be an awful lot of suits for a team in Division 2.

Are the wages and staff so expensive? From my little knowledge of Scottish football i'd imagine that if you put Rochdale's players in the lower divisions up there they'd do pretty well and they wouldn't need 40k per home match to keep them going.

Post your message on a Rangers forum and I'm sure your question will be answered a thousand times over.

Not really, they'd just call him a Fenian **** for asking sensible questions.

A lot of Celtic and Rangers fans have this Scouse-like victim mentality, everything that goes against them is a conspiracy of some sort.

Might be wrong but i think they do not owe the bank any money. The money lost is from a shares scheme that raised 20 odd million.
There seems to be quite a lot unaccounted for.

Dont get why you would pay players 20k a week in the equivalent of our Blue Sq north

I think the theory was that Rangers wanted to keep the best of their young players so that when they got back to the top flight they had the core of a decent squad rather than paying millions to strengthen. However in order to persuade those players to sign contracts with the new club they had to pay top flight wages.

Think they have 31 senior players.

Their wage bill players last time round was £6-£7m (take the high figure)

So the average wage at the moment is £226,000 per player per year (rounded up) or £4,346 a week before tax..

Doesn't seem like that crazy spending to me.

That is crazy spending for a team competing in an amateur league, they've gone massively over the top on just how much talent they need to accomplish promotion from those leagues. They still have a higher salary than most SPL sides apparently, not to mention all the executives and hangers on they are paying
