A few journos talking about Craig Whyte completing his Rangers takeover tonight.

Not on any decent scale of money really but we are about to find out how much they want Vlad Weiss.

I suspect they will make the deal permanent but for no more than £1.5m would be my guess

Hopefully with a sell on clause in there too

£1.5m? We got half a million for Robbie Mak didn't we and he's not even close to what Vlad is. Considering teams like Sampdoria wanted him last summer, if he really is to go we should be looking at £3-4m + sell-on or buy-back clauses IMO.

I cant see him going to them if we want more than £2m. Mcoist is only getting £5m a season to spend and they are going to lose Bougherra who they need to replace plus Papac, Mcgregor and a few others could leave if they dont get their contracts sorted. Thought Weiss was going to be the next big thing but watching him for Rangers just shows that hes peaked and he isnt going to be good enough for a top 4 team. Good luck to him.

City aren't looking to get him back and he certainly hasn't progressed.

One of Mancini's first judgements on his squad apparently was to get more and strength on the wings.

As per a thread I started before he left.

As much as Sky's Jim White would love to buy them,
don't think he could afford it tbh.
Now Craig Whyte maybe ;)

Also read that Vlads old man wants him to go to Spain or Italy.

Lol, I knew that didnt sound quite right as I typed it ;-)

Rangers board pulled out of this deal about 3 weeks ago because the finances of Craig Whyte were questionable and it might leave the club in a worse state than it already is some time down the line... If they've changed their tune, they must be desperate :)

Who is Robbie Mak?

Robert Mak, one of the young Slovaks we bought (Weiss, Mak, Mentel), who were all said to be big prospects, but Mak didn't really make the grade and well sold him last summer to Nuremberg in the Bundesliga. If Vlad goes, all three of them will have been offloaded and I guess Rusnak will be the next Slovak hope at City.

The spokesperson for the board has clearly stated they could only delay, not stop this takeover.

He further stated that they have gained a significantly better deal than the original one proposed.

He ended by saying something like "We will let our thoughts be known after the deal has been completed."

As they are all operating under an NDA that expires towards the end of May we can expect some real home truths about the deal shortly after.
