Scotland is indeed a fucked up country but not for the reasons identified above.

It's abnormal because Rangers fans are permitted free will to chant offensive sectarian dirge for 90 minutes every week with nothing said about it by our media but as soon as another clubs fans act what they deem as inappropriate by not sitting in silence for a minute there's outrage amongst the same media.

What a fucking shambles. Picking up on booing/offensive singing by Dundee United and Hibs fans for a minute seems to matter more than what happened the rest of the game and indeed every other week.

It's normalised and ingrained on society, that's the real issue here.

The disruption yesterday from the diddy mob fans is down to Scottish Nationalism and a racist hatred of the English.

their normal sectarian slant on anything Royal family.

I actually have to admire how you turn the situation round to make every other **** look like the bad guys. Racism against the English and "sectarian" slant on the royal family, you must feel a huge level of embarrassment in writing that.

But the issues listed above are part of the reasons why it's ingrained in society and seen as acceptable, and I'm talking about from all sides.

Old firm fans sing about a battle that happened 400 years ago, but our own national anthem is based on a battle that happened 700 years ago.

Why is it a shambles media picking up on anyone singing Lizzie's in a Box? Seriously? The fans themselves knew it would be picked up by the media, that's exactly why they did it! The queen passing is the main news in this country and most countries in the world, and you find it a shambles the media find it a talking point?

It's a shambles that they pick up on that and ignore the rest as they do every week, is what I'm getting at. By all means call it out, but play fair and call the rest of the nonsense out and do so on every single occassion it occurs or else we'll continue to get nowhere.

On the subject of the monarchy, I would never advocate booing or disrupting a minutes silence for just about anything as even if you have perfectly reasonable grievances or concerns about the subject matter which you're supposed to be paying respect towards, doing so only lowers yourself to the level of others.

There were a few boos and shouts at every Scottish premiership game yesterday, but the majority stayed silent which is the right thing to do - regardless of (legitimate) thoughts on the royal family.

At the end of the day like everything else in Scottish football now it is all about point scoring with the old firm fans.
The day the minutes silence was replaced by the minutes applause was the start of it all.

And point scoring against Old Firm fans?

For the record I love Scotland and when they get independence I will be claiming asylum there.

Every country has his nobs based on religion, sectarianism, or just being cunts.

No surprise, there's a lack of class up here within Scottish football. Hibs are just Celtic lite anyway and other clubs would use it as a weapon to wind up Rangers fans.

This is a country where the minutes silence for the 9/11 terror attacks was disrupted and also some supporters were making aeroplane motions at our American players.

For what's meant to be perceived as a warm and friendly country, our football fans are a hate filled lot.
Long been the case. I remember the start of the 1978 season when some Rangers fans celebrated the recurring deaths of popes with great glee; Lord, that’s nearly half a century ago now. In general, I suspect the vast majority of Scottish society has moved on and that it’s only the same shrinking minorities within clubs that feel the need to persist with their ‘whataboutery’. Nobody outside of their groups really cares and most people in their right minds can distinguish attention seekers from a country’s football/general public.

Anyway, in regards to the football, that appears to have been a comfortable win for Rangers and it was good to see young King get a game. Looked a little shaky at times and can be drawn to the ball, but he looks a more natural defender.

Not in the slightest. It’s absolutely true .
Celtic fans today.

Aye, being against the monarchy is sectarian and means you hate English people. Have a word.
You know what it’s like up here so stop deflecting and making excuses. If the Royal family was Catholic, Celtic fans would love them.
As for the rest, we’ll I’ll give you one example. I once asked a Hibs fan why he supports his rivals, Hearts, whenever they play us. His answer was, and I kid you not, was that Rangers fans are too ‘ English ‘ because we wave the Union flag.

That hibs fan sounds like a dick.

And I'm making zero excuses. There are legitimate reasons for disdain towards the royal family, the protestant members of my family will also testify to that. Nothing sectarian about it. The English people are great, I love them. The government and the royal family? No.

Genuine beef with Liz?

Me? No. I've no time for the Royal family and don't think there's a place for it in today's society. That being said, I've as much time for most individuals within it than I do for the Kardashians, I really dont care about most of them one way or the other.

Cards on the table and no disrespect meant, when I heard the news of the Queen passing it didn't and still doesn't register with me as being any more important than any other 96 year old woman who I don't know doing the same, emotionless.

On football (non) silences - I completely understand people's grievances with the monarchy and given the Queen was head of that monarchy I'm unsurprised to see sections of society, in this case football fans, use their voices and banners to protest against it. It's not something I'd do but it honestly doesn't bother or offend me either.

Well I wouldn’t particularly class myself as a Royalist, I can take or leave them but the Queen was held in high regard by a huge number of Scots, and even if people didn’t have that much affinity, it’s not too much to ask to remain silent for just one minute. Common decency.
Anything else is just moronic behaviour no matter how you look at it.
