Rank the best teams in Europe

Considering we struggled in both games v Lyon this is a mad thread OP.

Come on, the group games aren't a true reflection, players are still on the beach at that point. Lyon aren't getting past Barca.

And we've yet to play Schalke, who are apparently the worst of the lot!
As OGS said, PSG represented an enormous step up from what they'd played, and Guardiola always stresses how difficult each CL team is.
They are, having seen them vs Hertha Berlin 2 weeks ago they definitely are. If anything I'm overrating Schalke, the team that sits 14th in the Bundesliga.
OGS said that because United are probably the 2nd or 3rd worst team left.
That's similar to what i'd expect, Bayern a bit high though and think Dortmund and Napoli are better than United.

Bayern/Dortmund are as high/low as they are on the basis of previous seasons, I wouldn't disagree with any of those rankings though, as they're completely objective, even if I'd rather play the rags than Napoli or Dortmund in a CL match.

Cup competitions don’t necessarily decide who the best team is. Frank Lampard himself said after the game when Chelsea won it in 2012; “we know we’re not the best team in Europe, but for at least tonight we are so we’ll enjoy it”.

Cup competitions are usually just about good cup runs and one-off performances.

Unless you can show you can do it year after year.

I've often said that in a cup competition of, say, five or six games, you only need to play well in one of them, and it needn't be the final!

Absolute bollocks.

Considering we have been knocked out by Monaco and Liverpool in recent seasons I don't think we should be favourites.

Of all the teams left in it I would want to avoid Liverpool, Barca and PSG in the next round. But would fancy us to beat most. Liverpool are the ones I would want to avoid though, purely because of our record at Anfield.

Let's deal with Schalke first. This is City in Europe, we don't know what will happen!

City, Juve, Paris, Barça and Liverpool are the top5 for me

Watching PSG beat them the other night and that second half display was very good. 6/1 is a good price. As always Barcelona are the team to beat in my opinion

Best teams in Europe at the moment:
=1) City
=1) Liverpool
=1) Barcelona
=1) Juventus
5) Atletico
6) PSG
7) Spurs
8) Dortmund

Is that us versus Chelsea or Newcastle?
