Rare City Shirt for Sale

Good luck with the sale, I do quite a lot of buying and selling on ebay & as far as i know its not possible to bid against yourself, in other words you need two different people bidding for the price to go up?
When posting I always use Royal Mail Tracked & make sure a signature is needed from the buyer & touch wood I have been lucky so far,
The problem in this instance with Royal Mail tracking is that the maximum compensation is only £150. I have sold and bought items that have had RM tracking and they haven't always been shown as delivered even if they have done so. As I'm honest I've never claimed for anything that has been delivered but didn't show on tracking that it had been. Not everyone is like me :) You can buy full cover on the likes of Yodel. A £1000 item would cost around £50 plus VAT to send fully covered.

I will be astonished if you get paid out on this mate, no sane person jumps from £70 odd to £900, why would they?
All they have to do is put a max bid in and it will adjust if a higher bid comes in, up to the max ..
Not been on there for years but that’s how it used to work ..
I put a reserve price on it. If and when they bid would it show if they’ve met the reserve?

When I've bid on items it has never shown a reserve. What I do is try to get an early, very low bid in with a low maximum and then I keep an eye on how it's doing. If it goes beyond what I'm prepared to pay then I don't do anything else but if it's still interesting getting into the last hour I increase my maximum bid. What is happening with your item might be genuine but in my experience it's not how auctions tend to go.

Edit: it will show Reserve Not Met (just Googled it). I assume there has never been a reserve on anything I've bid on even though I'll start as low as possible

As the seller all the control is yours.

I would change the deets to be "collection only". That will protect you from being scammed.

Also check-out the history of the bidder - he has 84 transactions - for what exactly?

You can always contact them, find out where they are/why they are interested etc.
