I will give it a 7, finishing 3rd an qualifying for the group stage of the Champions league can hardly be lower can it?

Thats not to say that it could'nt have been better. Infact it has been largely frustrating and leaves many somewhat non plussed.

There has been some very positive things about the season.

Sane looking more and more like a potential world class player, next season could be very exciting regarding his progress. Sterling likewise showing signs of developing into the kind of player he was thought to be, Stones likewise.

Then there is Gabriel Jesus, I am really not sure how good he is going to turn out, but I do suspect he will be leading Brazils line for many years, I am sure he will join the list of idolised Brazilian footballers along side Neymar, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Pele and co. That seems at least the view held by Brazilians and they seem to know what they are talking about when it comes to spotting the next superstar, so along with how he has shaped up so far I reckon he might do ok for City!

Yaya and Vinny rising from the dead and looking more than worthy of being part of a much better season next time.

Beating the twats at old toilet, forcing them to resort to the most cowardly dismal bus parking tactics in order to ride their luck and skulk of back to Ragnorak with a point in the return.

Beating Barcelona!

There have been more negatives than we would have been reasonably expected to have to cope with. Firstly those beyond our control.

Cheating fiddling bent corrupt bastards otherwise known as referees, its been done to death, but there really cannot be any question that something has been seriously not right with the decisions against us in every single match against our main rivals in the Premier league. We have never had the best of it from the bent twats but even Alf Grey would be shocked by some of the whoppers this season.

Not having the greatest of draws in the Cup Competitions, drawing the twats in the League cup in that round was unhelpful, as always our group in the CL was at best tricky.

Injuries have been a major issue this season, the ongoing crockery of Vinnie, Gundogan Jesus barely through the door before they are knackered, Aguero missing chunks of the season and so on.

There have also been totally avoidable aspects such as a farcical goalkeeping arrangement, comical defending, piss poor finishing, but most of all the surrender of the League Cup at the swamp. That loss somehow seemed to shift the momentum in our season.

There was totally ridiculous expectation once Pep was appointed. He has shown this season that he is fallible as much as the next man, by his own admission he has found managing City is a very different thing than managing Barcelona or Bayern. He has made some mystifying decisions this season that had those same decisions been made by Pellegreni there would have been uproar, infact had any other manager dropped such a huge bollock over the seasons goalkeeping arrangements there would have been uproar and calls for his removal.

I think Pep will have learned alot about himself as well as City this season and he knows he has to do much better. I think he will and when he leaves the club will walk away a much better coach than he is now...

All things considered it might in some respects feel like a 5/10 season but really 7/10 is a fairer reflection when all things are taken into account.

Of course it is possible, but this squad needs such an overhaul, it will have to be over a number of transfer windows, so to do it next season, with at least 40% squad turnover likely, is unrealistic, very unrealistic imho. We should target winning the PL again, and then do the best we can in CL, the gap to to the elite in Europe is too big for next season, unless we get very lucky with draws (unlikely given our popularity with UEFA), but at least we are not hampered next season by having to qualify first.

I think there's an attacking core there. Full-backs will make such a difference that I think that will make such a big improvement to mitigate the "overhaul" of the squad. The right full-backs and the other signings can be blended in to what we already have, so we can hit the ground running, but next season keep going.

If we don't make a step up to a new plain next season, Pep's not going to look very good.

Im torn, fact is potless and scraping cl on the final day with this squad is 4 out of 10 at best but as mentioned in the referees/officials thread we'd be singing a different tune if even a fraction of blatant decisions were correctly observed, we may even have bloody won the thing. So I'll go with a 6.5
I love this quote"with this squad". Yet week in and week out WE moaned about how shit navas, Clichy, Kolorov, stones, Otomendi, Fernando, sagna are yet they make up the Great squad we have.?
Not picking on you but the"with this squad" bit. :-)

i know we havent won anything but i think we have improved quite a lot compared to last season.

League wise, compared to last season, we have won 4 more games, lost 4 less, scored more, conceded less and have 12 more points.
3rd highest scorers in the league and the 4th best defensive record. So on paper its not too bad.

some performances have been fantastic and i can only think of a few games where we were disappointing.
As mentioned we have had some shocking referee decisions, as have a number of clubs if im honest.
Created tons of chances, hit the post unbelievably regularly! Small margins and all that.

its a tough league and pep has made his fair share of mistakes. but i think hes learnt a lot as the season has come to an end.
You have to take your hats off to chesleas and spurs for finishing above us.
they have had a great PL season and played some fantastic football.

id give us a 7 out of 10 i think, but im very excited about the next few seasons potentially. Plenty to be optimistic about!! :-)

Been breath taking at times but just not good enough against our rivals at the top. Saying that Chelsea and Spurs have been on a different level this season. We need to make that one of our goals ,to take points off the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and the dippers. Overall I'd give it a 7/10.

6 or 7 out of 10.

Alright it'll be viewed a 'failure' due to having won nothing but theres been much more to this season. For a start some of the football we have played has been sublime, particularly going forward. We've turned in some great performance and some not so great performances.

8/10 for our signings. Just on Jesus and Sane alone who have been great buys. Gundogan looked great before his injury. Stones still has it all to prove. Bravo very poor.

7/10 for the league. Purely for being so far behind Chelsea but we did a good job scrapping for the automatic Champions League qualification.

6.5/10 for the Champions League. Great performance against Barcelona, good points tally in the group stages. Great 1st leg vs Monaco and unfortunately a very poor 1st half in Monaco cost us.

7/10 for the FA Cup. We'd be in the final but for the officials. Unlucky with a couple of efforts that hit the woodwork.

5/10 for the league cup. Never nice to lose to United but it was in a hectic period so understood.

Once Pep gets his players in, particularly at the back we'll be a different prospect. It's been a season of what ifs but i'm sure we'll get there next season.

We lost the big games , if we had took 6 pts off the chavs and 6pts off spuds we would have won the title , even the dippers took 4 pts off us , and the worst goons team for 20 years stuffed us in a cup semi final . Not a season to look back on with pride , but despite some doom and gloom on here , we are not a million miles away from being title winners again. We need 4 or 5 big players/signings and i believe top players in europe will want to sign for Pep and also take the incredible wages we can pay , and lets not forget the huge advantage the Chavs have had without european football , that has helped them to a freak 30 victories this season. Really looking forward to next season but Pep will be under huge pressure to deliver from the hierarchy , he's had a free hit this season and he's got no excuses for failure next season.

6.5

Would have been 7 if we'd won one of the cups as well as getting 3rd but next season, 3rd & a cup would be 5 unless there are mitigating circumstances, wheras a decent 2nd & no cups would be 8 imo. The league is the main barometer for me but I think for Pep & the bosses, it's the Champs Lg.

6/10.

The attacking options are brilliant, defensive not so. An up, down, down and then up season. Jesus looks class. Vinny fit near the end of the season and the defence looks more solid. Willy better than Bravo. KDB had a great season, same as Silva. Others flit in and out but came good at the end. Still not sure on the to me to you nature when we are playing poorly though.

Sane, Jesus, KDB and Silva behind Aguero is a frightening thought for next season. The defence not so but Otamendi looks great with Vinny. New full backs plus world class goalie and we shall be ok. The Italian kid looks good. Along with Walker and a.n.other. Sorted.
