All last week I got sick and tired of hearing how great Sunderland were when all I saw was the odd punt upfield, a long chase and a goal with their only real shot on target. Every other punt resulted in a miss or a poor cross or our defence mopping it up. They had a long shot that Pants parried over in the second half also but really nothing more that troubled us. Wigan won the FA Cup last year with one of only a few clear chances (one was very early on) and today they had the penalty and the second goal and really nothing else of any note to keep Pants busy in goal. Am I mistaken but it appears in far too many of our games the opposition seem to score with their one and only real chance in a game whereas we seem to have chance after chance that goes begging. I would love to see a goals per shot ratio against us and compare it to how many we have. We are forever it seems being caught out with our open expansive style whilst trying to batter down the defensive wall in front of us.

It does seem to be that teams punish us with their only chances of games. Whilst we (recently anyways) squander chances. Our strikers are bang out of form atm. I don't want to start bashing Dzeko as he looked up for it today (for a change) but he needs about 5 chances before he can score. Negredo's out of form too (since he returned from injury) and Aguero's coming back from injury too.

Our strikers are poor at the moment. Dzeko looked up for it today but he has to be putting one of those chances away. Negredo was just fucking rubbish as he has been since he hurt his shoulder. Aguero now he has had 2 run outs will hopefully get better and return to the form he was showing before the injury.

Sometimes when we win media will say things like 'The other team played better, they deserved more.' I think that usually City were better though and they're just letting the underdog mentality sway them. If the performances in the CC final were reversed would any single pundit say that City deserved better? No, we'd be slaughtered for a terrible performance.

Okay you could argue that it is about a team living to to its talent capacity, but they are still missing the overall picture.

Lets not forget we have a so called superstar footballer who's missed a tap in from 1 yard in two consecutive home games. To me that has nothing to do with the opposing team it just means we have a dogshit player on our books.

We have huge defensive problems, in terms of the level of our defenders, in terms of their skills, pace etc. and also in terms of the whole team acting when we dont have the ball especially when we are counter attacked or they run at us with pace. Many times we just hope we can get away with it, and our defenders dont do well enough under pressure.

I hoped it will change after Pellegrini spends month with the team but it did not improve at all.

These are bigger leaks than what we could just solv with signing one or two better CB's like many people think.

Getting Mangala + someone else in the summer wont be enough. Far from it.
