All last week I got sick and tired of hearing how great Sunderland were when all I saw was the odd punt upfield, a long chase and a goal with their only real shot on target. Every other punt resulted in a miss or a poor cross or our defence mopping it up. They had a long shot that Pants parried over in the second half also but really nothing more that troubled us. Wigan won the FA Cup last year with one of only a few clear chances (one was very early on) and today they had the penalty and the second goal and really nothing else of any note to keep Pants busy in goal. Am I mistaken but it appears in far too many of our games the opposition seem to score with their one and only real chance in a game whereas we seem to have chance after chance that goes begging. I would love to see a goals per shot ratio against us and compare it to how many we have. We are forever it seems being caught out with our open expansive style whilst trying to batter down the defensive wall in front of us.
