I don't care if some see this as a football killer, somebody needs to take a stand now cos it's dying of un-natural causes anyhow.

We and other big teams have organically grown our fan base through good commercial acumen, played by the rules for years, and are effectively being blocked from taking advantage of what we have built by cashing in globally, whereas some rich bloke can walk in off the streets pick up some small club, pumb £800m into it and there's no rules stopping them.

And let's consider uefa's FFP rules, and these smaller clubs already thumbing their noses at the new rules

Existing stadium naming rights revenue precedent ?, never been set, yet they say it's £400m, and only had one offer, so not even two sponsors fighting to push the price up !, the sponsor shouldn't be members of the same family or member company, er ? Sort of like half brother ?, sponsorships should at least be targeting their audience, do a lot of mancs send air freight around the gulf states then ?

I'm sorry but the current setup with mansour and abramovich stinks to high heaven and we're hamstrung when it comes to generating revenue from our own hard work, history and global fan base !

Bring on our own global tv deal, cos if ffp doesn't protect us from the sugar daddy effect, then we should at least be able to compete using our own resources

The best example of hypocrisy out there, they're big therefore they have a god given right to win but oh no don't you dare let the likes of ickle city near a trophy. This post is so wrong in so many ways, they (and every1 else for that matter) allege we r killing football, yet they defend their own (greedy) decision in favor of solo TV rights????

Littlewoods Pools the Moores family bankrolled them to success, they didn't win an fa cup until 1966 & didn't win a Euro Trophy until after 1970. As soon as the Moores family pulled out that was as with Everton the start of where they are now.
They have a nasty habit of airbrushing out parts of their History that they don't like.

To be fair to them most are against it as they should be, This would kill our league and any FOOTBALLfan would know this.

Some are, but the ones that aren't cite the rise of City and Chelsea as a reason to go solo, that wreaks of hypocrisy.

About time we took the lead on something instead of twiddling our thumbs while the Mancs and London clubs march past us.

Football is already dead. First in gets to strip off the most flesh is the way I see it.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

We either look for these sorts of revenues or we don't at all, It's that simple.

''the stadium sponsors shouldnt be from the same company''.

Didnt hear them squawking when Dave Whelan named Wigan's ground first after his comapny and then himself - or Reading after their chairman.... but then they are not a threat to Liverpool's beloved top 4 placing are they?

An even better question is to ask what the losing bid to Warrior Sports was to sponsor Liverpool? You know... considering that they're all cozy with Liverpool's owner and his U.S. teams.

Volkswagen Arena (Wolfsburg)
Philips Stadion (PSV)

The precedent was set a long time ago. Will UEFA be investigating these deals as well?

Indeed. I'll also add that the size of Liverpool's global support base wasn't just down to success on the pitch but partly lent itself to sheer good luck in that they were fortunate that their team started to come good just after a certain band from the same city was making headlines all over the world, hence focusing much of the global media spotlight on the city of Liverpool and Liverpool FC were the main beneficiaries of that. This for me had a definite impact on increasing their support base. If it was a different team from a different part of the country then I doubt that their support would've grown quite as much even if they'd won as many trophies as Liverpool did during their golden era.
