Rawlplug just turning in wall?

Right recently decorated my room so had to take my floating shelf down.

Marked where the holes where and went to put it back up and one screw is just turning in the wall and the walls crumbling now (they're not so great)

What can I do to solve it?

Already tried packing it with poly filler and then tried again this morning but still no luck.

Could I put no more nails in the hole and then stick the rawl plug in?

bit of wooden dowelling, or pack it out with matchsticks or halves of rawlplugs

Make a wooden plug, hit it into the wall. And put the screw in mate. Make sure its a fair size one.

Whenever I am putting raw plugs etc into plaster board, I always put a squirt of expanding foam into the hole before putting the plug in. When the foam has set makes it incredibly strong and you can hang almost anything off the screws.

Works wonders!

tap a smaller rawlplug inside the big one, start the screw in by hand to make sure its biting & not just spinning the lot round again

Move the shelf along so it still covers the old holes and start again - if your original screws were in a bit of crumbling mortar you'll never get a good - and, more importantly for a shelf in a kids room, safe - fixing.

This is the reason i dont do DIY. Its the Father-in-Law or look in the yellow pages

take out rawlplug,fill out with filler , push new rawlplug into filler before it sets,tidy up filler,leave to dry ,and fix it tomoz . Mancini`s City wasnt built in a day ;)
