RB Leipzig (H) | Post Match Thread

amazing, outstanding etc. Don't really know what to add to 42 pages of summing up what was obvious!

others: John Stones played really well as inverted RB, filling in behind Rodders and overloading a bit. Lovely to see KdB back in rollocking form like that. Akanji far more settled again, this run of form is suiting him.

I dont think our pen was a pen. Well maybe it was under some specific rules, but if that was against City.....anyway, it was soft as fuck. Also i thought Ederson was lucky to get away with that rash charge.

great evening, any of Inter, Chelsea, Benfica and AC Milan will do, avoid Bayern, Napoli and Madrid/Liverpool for now.
Napoli the big danger.

Goals change the course of games, and when the first two goals are dubious, it's going to affect how the rest of the match plays out. If Leipzig could've kept a clean sheet until the break and Ederson had been shown the red card, who knows what might have happened.

Let me make this clear: City are a WAY better team. They are going to win this fixture 99 out 100 times, especially at the Etihad. But they shouldn't have received those favors from the referee. Leipzig were denied any real shot at this game because of him.

We saw how Milan and Inter went through by digging in and playing ultra defensively (albeit against worse teams). Had a similar referee been in charge of their games, they wouldn't have had a chance.
Such refereeing performances bring the game into a state of disrepute. I don't think it's in City's best interest to win like this either.

In short: Congrats on your advancement. Massive performance. But I don't want to hear you guys ever complain about refs again.
You had a doozie when you played Bournemouth.

Wow. Superb performance. Erring just no words. Stonesy sensational. Ake again excellent. Jack knows he has arrived in this team. Kev with a fk you performance :)
Shush with your Jack knows he's arrived bollocks..there is a certain poster who will tell you that Jack isn't any good and he's lucky to be in the team.
I've been saying for a while just how good Jack is playing..he's looking like he knows he's an integral part of the team.

I take it you missed the first leg. We were denied a blatant hand baĺl pen near the end, didn't even go to var. Don't remember lots of outrage about that decision !

I get that times are hard, same as any other clubs fans but why is it hard for so many of our fans NOT to stay another 15 mins to clap the team off after a performance like that? Not sure what more the team can do.
It’s now become an engrained habit for so many they don’t think about it !!

Lol. What the actual fuck.

City have been shafted so many times by refs that we are all incredulous at what happened last night. We can't believe a ref did that for us. But you lot can fuckoff if you're going to tell us the refs work for us. We've had years of the shittest most confusing decisions against us, borderline corruption and I don't even believe that shit.

Even in his early days here I kept supporting Jack. His swagger and unauthodox play unhinges the minds of the defence. He got better and better as last season went on and now he is superb, week in week out. So pleased for one of the good guys.

Personally, I would have been mad with rage if that pen had been awarded against us. Many others on here have been big enough to recognise that, in so many words.
But hang on a minute. We scored six other goals. Is the maths complicated?
Oh, then I suppose people will say Leipzig were suddenly transformed into a pub team and completely lost their heads for the rest of the match…

Wasn’t a red anyway. Not a goalscoring opportunity. Could have been a yellow. As for the pen - we should have had one at the end of the first leg. Did you come on here then calling it an outrageous decision.

Thought not
