Real Madrid (H) CL Post-Match Thread

Level heads when they scored, great game management second half, couple of moments where Ediie kept us on top with some excellent keeping.

Only a couple of real troublesome moments.
(See what I did there?) So many good chances for us.

Jesus and most of front 3 played perfect pressing game and were rewarded with forced errors.

Phil looked lively and clever in 1st half.

Gundo right where he needed to be most of the match and dictated much of the play from loose balls.

Raz a bit wasteful but was there to create and have the chances and got a good goal.

Kev just driving through as he usually does when we want goals.

Cancelo a bit lazy to react on a couple of occasions incl the goal but largely played well. Some nice runs going fwds.

Rodri and backline were good enough - though I felt they were frequently a little lacking in confidence when they should have put a firmer clearing tackle in. Though I guess they did avoid giving away any dangerous free kicks.

...with the exception of Walker. Immense night. Like having an extra holding midfielder most of the game and not afraid to bring it into the areas where there were then opportunities on.

We waited patiently through their domination of possession for the first 5 mins then took it to them and never gave them a chance to establish themselves.

Oh, and we didn't even need to score to go through in the end. But we did twice anyway and it could easily have been 5 THAT's how good we were.

Pep will be purring inside.

Great performance, and great performance over two legs. Could see the players finally believe that we belong at this level, and can get on top of these teams. Feel this win over two legs will be the moment our club finally took it's place in the elite of Europe, we were already there but needed a major scalp in the Champions League to embed it into the club. Now to win the thing finally.

Thought everyone was fantastic, Foden is special and will be a all time great, Pep got his tactics spot on.

Will enjoy this win for a few days, then start the nervous wait for next week's game against Lyon. Well worth the quarter to 4 wake up for the game.
