Ederson

Walker
Fernandinho
Laporte
Cancelo

Rodri
De Bruyne
David Silva

Bernardo
Mahrez
Sterling

I'd go for Bernardo in the false 9 in this one, Like we did away at the Rags pulling defenders out of position and exploiting spaces in behind with Sterling and Mahrez. Cancelo at left back because I don't trust Zinchenko.

1. What should the training sessions leading up to the Madrid fixture be focused on? Same as Pep has always focused on in training- our tactics don't change regardless of who we play.

2. What game plan and tactics would you employ to ensure that we reach the quarter finals? Same tactics Pep has dominated with since he arrived here.

3. Would you play David Silva? Should Foden start? What about Bernardo (he started the away fixture)? Play Foden- Bernardo has been shocking for a large part of this season and David has had a lot of game time recently for an ageing player.

4. If Aguero is fit in time, should he immediately start over Jesus? Jesus should start. He tore Madrid to pieces at the Bernabau.

5. Would you go with experience at the back or place your trust in an inexperienced youngster (Eric Garcia) in our most important fixture of the season? Eric Garcia.

I understand, but go & watch the 1st leg again and you will find out that Gundogan played really well in that game.
Correct.

The shit Gundo gets from our fan base is stupid, especially when some players have produced shite for months on end this season and get a free pass.

* Wish we had a better option at Left Back. Might even play Cancelo there!

This tie has Monaco Away written all over it, unless we play the game in front of us and play with the international experience this team brings to bear. One goal for us doesn’t change the calculus for Real Madrid. They’re coming to score TWO GOALS MINIMUM, which means they’re coming to attack, but over the 90 minutes, not 9. That’s going to require patience from us, which is about the only good thing about there not being 50,000 Blues in the stadium.

OUR first priority is to stop them from scoring, but we NEED to score a goal. If the game turns into a 0-1, the longer it goes, the more vulnerable we become to a 2nd RM goal. The longer we can go without them scoring, the better our chances become, because THEY have to start chasing the game, opening up, and leaving space for us to play.

Again, ONE GOAL FOR US DOESN’T CHANGE THEIR GAME PLAN, so they’re free to come to attack. Two goals for us and now their challenge is significantly harder...and then, if we did give up 3 goals at home in the CL Knockout Stage, we would absolutely deserve to go out!

This game is a 2020/2021 trial. If you play but don’t bring it, then you may have no place in this squad. THESE GAMES are what Man City were built for, what the owners are paying the players £500,000 - £1M/mo for, and what Pep was brought here for. If you can’t cut it, you’re done at City. THAT’S HOW MUCH THIS GAME MEANS.

2-1 at the Bernabeu was an outstanding result. However, it becomes meaningless if we ship 2 goals at the Etihad, and we just handed Arsenal 2 goals in a platter in a big game, so...

GAME ON!

pep out
get jose in to teach us how to park the bus hahahaha the media love in will follow
Christ imagine him having to deal with what pep does.
We’ve seen he’s partial to gouging eyes, he’s probably deck half the room in the first conference.
You know what, let’s give him the job just for thst

its the hardest job in world football being manchester city manager ? am out hahahahahahaha

Had to laugh yesterday. The assistant’s talking to Pep at some length in animated fashion. Pep’s sat looking into the distance with an expression like “I wonder what time to go for a shit”. Anyone else notice?
Pep didn't look himself during the semi at all.
Seemed to be lacking his usual energy and intensity.

4-2-3-1

ederson

walker garcia laporte cancelo

rodri fernandinho

bernardo kdb sterling

jesus

So, two dms, so one can cover the cbs and the other cancelo. It also allows the fullbacks to give more width in possesion, their physicality and fernandinho'd experience should be useful.

Kdb gets a bit more freedom to roam and launch the counter for sterling and jesus, which is good. Bernardo can close in the middle to give you numbers there and will track back their full back when needed, also gives you more possession and control than mahrez. Basically a counter attack formation, same strategy that was used against liverpool.

In reality, im not sure cancelo will play left back and the ferna - rodri combo is a bit too slow, so i expect gundo to start with fernandinho. Im pretty sure Bernardo will play in the front three instead of Mahrez
