Recommend ten must see places in England to visit....

As I live in Northumberland I will go for:
Embleton Beach
Alnmouth
Holy Island
Warkworth
Blyth South Beach and Chip Shop
Amble Harbour
Craster
Rothbury
Keilder
Hadrians Wall

Best 'hidden' county in the country (and I have lived in the lakedistrict and Yorkshire Dales!

I don't live there but would absolutely agree with this, stunning. Cragside would be in my top ten.

Some gems I haven't seen mentioned thus far:

The Globe, Southwark
Woburn Abbey
Rye
Cambridge
Southwold
Port Merion
Bamburgh
Near Sawrey
Lincoln Cathedral
Runymede

Holcombe Hill/Peel Tower (monument for Sir Robert Peel, Police Moderniser and Former PM)
Once there, on a clear day you can see large areas of Lancashire and Manchester City Centre.

Bury Market - plenty of independent shops, fresh produce, indoor fish market.
Tip - Park at Tesco in Bury (3hrs free parking)

Burrs Country Park - nice countryside walk, with the River Irwell running through.
Canoeing.
Catch the right time of day and you'll see old Victorian era Steam Trains running through.

East Lancs Railway.
From Bury, you can travel through towards Lancashire on steam trains and other historical trains.
There is now a on board restaurant on the train which is recommended for good cuisine.

Ingleton Falls.
Any Cathedral City, York and Chester are pleasures to visit.

Haslingden Halo - recommended at night time, and taking the kids.
It's a monument that somewhat resembles a UFO (lol) so can be funny taking the kids up there at night and telling them they're about to meet the Aliens (I'm a cruel bastard I know)
But yea, nice sight to see at night when it's all lit up.

Formby Beach.
Avoid bank holidays, try get there mid-week as half of Merseyside turns up and leaves the place looking like a council tip in Toxteth.
I've been midweek and literally had the whole beach and forest walk to myself.
Was so peaceful at one with nature.

Edgeworth/Jumbles - nice walk around the reservoirs here which supply alot of the drinking water in Lancashire.
Alright grub in Strawberry Duck as well (pub)
Nice places to Carp Fish around there as well (if that's your thing)

Buxton.
Nice place to visit. Take a bottle with you and you can fill it up with fresh water.

Lake Windermere.
Nice boat trips around the lakes too. Can be awful for parking though.

Heaton Park.
Never been? Take a visit before/after your next visit to the Etihad Stadium.
It's 15min away by car if that and considering how close it is to Mcr City Centre, it's a nice place to get away from the hussle.
Tip - have a walk up to the observatory and from here you can see a lovely view of Manchester City Centre.
Yes it isn't exactly Central Park (NYC) but say hello if you see me (I run most days around there wearing a city shirt)

Old Trafford - it's a lovely cricket ground.
Get in mention for buxton

Blenheim Palace
Ely cathedral
Beverley, East Yorkshire
Borough market and surrounding area, London
The backs, Cambridge
Southwold Suffolk
Manchester town hall
Mevagissey, Cornwall
Blackpool pleasure beach
The Lake district
