Ref for the derby

It's been said elsewhere that the linesmen swapped over at halftime. That doesn't sound common - can anyone confirm it?

The nearside linesman in the first half didn't give the handball, did believe that Young climbing all over Sterling was a foul and didn't give one about a foot in front of him which Atkinson did from wherever he was. That was inside 15 minutes. I can forgive the ref for not seeing the handball given Young's movement of his head towards it, but the linesman has to see that type of thing.

The Aguero penalty is inexcusable. And if that's given, half of the afters doesn't happen.

I'm not bothered about past record between clubs (unless you're Anthony Taylor), and still think Atkinson is about the best around. Yesterday, him and his team were absolutely dreadful in reffing correctly.

The premier league needs a "successful" Manchester United. Remind yourself of that and then look at the Atkinson/Lino "performance" yesterday.

Did anyone else see in the second half when the ball went out for a throw that should have been ours? Assistant on the East Stand side flagged for a rag throw. All our players went beserk but the decision stood. Then a few minutes later the ball went out for a Utd throw and he gave to to us. Clearly making up for his earlier howler.

Attkinson never gives any penalty or handball. Nor does he send anyone off except for 2 yellow card offences. It doesn't mater who the teams are so you can be very aggressive AND get away with it.

I wouldn't be surprised to discover that game management exists within some referees philosophy...

10 seconds apart. I thought it was good refereeing myself.

It was right in front of us. It was beyond inept.
