Ref Watch

That’s crept in on the game this season, quite a lot I’ve noticed. I understand fully about being mindful of concussion but the amount of players that go down claiming head trauma when attacking teams are putting pressure on goal is amazing. If I wasn’t cynical I would be thinking it’s a snide way of relieving pessure;)

I actually think this is a much bigger problem than people are realising.

Head injuries are very serious, it’s taken the game way too long to realise that. We absolutely can not have people faking them. Anything that lessens the urgency and precautions needed for head injuries and “normalises” them needs to be stamped out with absolute authority immediately. It’s this stuff that leads to people thinking “oh they’ll probably be fine, we see these three times every game”. It is endangering players. Look at the Iranian keeper in the World Cup who (stupidly) played on.

The only way I can think of stopping it is to mandate 5 minutes on the sideline for anybody who needs a concussion check. It sucks for the team it happens to but it would get rid of this nonsense very quickly.

Hate to say it, but the others are so bad, or so easily manipulated, that having a United fan referee our games is probably the best we can do.
I didn't mind the Alti man until he changed the way he ref'd the Liverpool game just long enough to wipe out our goal. Wonder who was in his ear that day.

Today has to go down as a black day for PGMOL. So many bad decisions it's unbelievable. That Brighton disallowed goal for offside was just incredible. How can something like that actually happen? And to make it worse it's the head of VAR, Neil Swarbrick, that made the decision. Add to that the West Ham handball, the two offside players for Brentford's equaliser. It really is a scandalous level of officiating for the most prestigious league (puts on Jeremy Clarkson accent) in the world.
To be fair, its not VAR who made the decision at Arsenal. It was the ref on-field. VAR not involved in the decision making. Ref inexplicably blew which immediately stopped play before the guy scored. Terrible abject/bent refereeing to blame

If I was suspicious todays atrocious refereeing is PGMOLs defence to rumours we have a dossier on their performance. Their response is “no, we really are just wank.”
If they were just wank, the awful decisions would be spread out equally… not repeatedly in the red shirts favour!!

Just look at the last month by way of example. Dippers v Wolves offside, Derby offside and then Arsenal slip yesterday… totally inexplicable how those 3 decisions went the way they did….

I cant quite believe there are still some people who cant see whats goin on!!

I can see it. I think the biggest myth was when GPC said they all even out over the season. That was creating the narrative.

i have read that Rugby league is bringing in a "green card" so that an injured player goes off for 2 mins. this is to try and stamp out feigning injury.
