Referees/Officials 2017/18 performances

I wonder if a call goes in to the FA this week to demand, not ask for, a meeting with top level officials and ask how time after time we are getting fucked over and it's only because we are currently so good that we keep winning.

I would hope that the club have already done this . Yesterday's incidents were just more in a long line of such examples , the disgraceful tackles by Kane and Ali being just two in the same match .

The perpetrators of dangerous tackles need to be punished by strong action from the referees. Too many are ignored .

When you see ex Pro's have a go at the lack of protection you know something is not quite right with the constant leg breakers we are having to content with:

Dickov tweeted, "Great professional performance by @mancity great to see the skipper back @VincentKompany. Officials appalling again, could have been 3 serious injuries not for the first time, something has to be done about this, before someone suffers a serious injury."

No 50/50 about it, he was onside and the keeper wasn’t unsighted.

A Scouse colleague has said it’s the 2nd worst decision he’s ever seen, the 1st being some random one they had 12 years ago.

I think that sums up how bad it was.
Yea. That’s why I said ‘at the very best’. In real time it looked close though and because there was no way he or the linesman could definitely see he was offside then The Benefit Of The Doubt rule should have applied.

No two ways about it. A shocking performance at every turn and if as commentators have been saying, those kind of tackles are routine in The Championship then things need to change.

Sacked? I would prefer an electric probe inserted into his anal orifice and a copy of the Laws of the Game put in front of him, and then the lecky switched on.

There was a point in the first half that reminded me of many a game I played in the school yard in secondary school when we didn't have a ref
Can we not do both?

For a little defence to the ref, in real time i thought he just legged him up. Only when I saw it back did it show a how bad it was.

I think the big thing really is that you could maybe miss one, but its been about 6 this season, all well worthy of reds, which have been dealt with softly.

Whether they are malicious or not, it really is strange than they've all slipped through the net. Possibly ref's not wanting to pile on the misery of the "plucky under dogs" to to beat us. Becoming a far to frequent occurrence.

Someone on Twitter has pointed out that despite PGMOL being only one of the world's two professional refereeing bodies, not a single English referee is deemed good enough to go to the world cup this summer. That shows quite clearly how far standards have fallen under the "leadership" of Mike Riley. I've tweeted that to a few of the better journalists so we'll see what reaction it gets.

It's scandalous that someone from Upper Volta or wherever is thought by FIFA to be better than someone like Martin Atkinson. Riley has been an utter disaster for the English game.

Does anyone know what the fitness standards are?

For people who are paid 6 figure salaries to run about and make decisions, it feels like their levels of fitness have not kept up with the increasing pace of professional football in this country, and they're often too far away or badly positioned which is likely a fitness issue.

Only a few of them are obviously carrying too much weight, but none of the others look like athletes, which is what you need to be to keep up with 22 athletes for 90 minutes.

And as every player knows, your decision making suffers when you're knackered as well.

The referee could be forgiven, but the assistant was dead level with play, had an unobstructed view from 15-20 yards from the angle of the replay which made everyone instantly declare it a red.

The original camera angle and Mason were on the other side of the challenge which is why it looked like just a trip on first viewing, but the assistant had the perfect view and did nothing.

Because he's a loser baby.

If we had VAR yesterday we would have won 6 or 7. Bernardo s strike would have stood and they would be a minimum of a man light possibly 2 even before injury time dismissa.......bring it on. Us and likes of Burnley struggle to get penalty s and such like.

Sterling goes down too easily and Burnley will have to stand on a land mine inside box ! On the other hand rags , dippers get them for zilch....

If people protect us as hopefully do more consistently in Europe we will fly

Just wait till we get Senor Lahoz again.

A couple of years ago Sergio had both legs took from under him v Southampton in area. Got booked for diving. If anyone could post that clip it would be interesting what others make of that.........in a nutshell that is what we are up against ALWAYS cos we are not United....

Wasn't that also the one where the defender's defence was to point at a spot outside the area to try convincing the ref that it was only a freekick not a penalty?

This is spot on. No way the ref could keep up (cos he's a fat twat) with Sane, but the lino had a clear view and failed to even flag despite that the tackle was so high and the c**t had both feet off the ground and was therefore not in control. Can't it be reviewed just on that-it was effectively violent conduct?
