Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

Farage campaigning in Wales today with an odd approach - said Welsh low level of productivity is down to Welsh people lacking ambition - oh and he wants to re-open the coal mines ( can't imagine many Welsh people wanting a return to that for their kids ) and he said Reform would re-open the blast furnaces at Port Talbot - why would he do that when they are not state owned and its actual owner Tata Steel said they were unviable.

He is a populist fantasist who is just making shit up.

Yeah, but if people buy it …

John Bailey, Reform UK councillor for Easington has resigned due to medical issues. He used to live 6 doors away from me and moved out 4 years ago to go into an assisted living home. The reason for this was early onset dementia. However, about 2 years ago he was back in the town. The reason was because he couldn't provide any proof of his alleged diagnosis.
He also had told people that before the election he had never set foot in Easington.
Another Reform UK grifter

new Reform MP Pochin onto Politics Live already.

Hollinrake (Con) talks over Labour MP Sarah Owen
Hollinrake and Pochin then compete for who can talk over each other.
Embarrassing really to need telling not to within 10 minutes of the start.

Edit:
And then Pochin comes up with "hold on, Sarah, you've had your say"
and is arguing with the Guardian journo about a source of figures.

She's on something!

And the blast furnaces there are already well on the way to being dismantled. He is talking total bullshit

If the BBC of today had been operating in WW2 they'd have broadcast Churchill's speeches, then had replies from Hitler, Mussolini and Togo for 'balance', Then they'd have suggested that Winston was a bit of a wanker and that the others had something in their arguments.

like all of Reform - thin skinned when their views are scrutinised

I thought all the “illegal immigrants”, that she talks of (and conflates are the ones who wear Burkas) in her constituency, are all men who come across the sea on boats?

Why do they wear the traditional clothing of women?

Or is she making lazy, xenophobic (or racist) assumptions to stir up the public sentiment.

Also, I’d class these people as asylum seekers, not illegals, if they are in hotels and in the system to be getting paid out / put up.

she is a lazy thick racist - under international law they ARE asylum seekers and refugee's - they only become illegal if they are denied asylum. The Tories passed a law making all of the "illegal" once they set one foot on UK soil. Its never been applied to anyone because there would be an instant appeal and court case and the illegality of the law would have been exposed. This week we have seen more kids getting free school meals and today power - all the Tories did was a performance not governing.

I'd like Pochin to comment on these figures

It's not uncommon. It only needed two electors from the local authority area (not just Biddulph) to request a by-election to fill a casual vacancy.

If that's not happened I assume other parties may put forward a candidate for co-option.
