Religion

Dao(Tao)ism is the way forward.
Taoism can have some beautiful stuff. But maybe the question here is whether the universe is, on some level, an interconnected whole or whether it is just a collection of separate objects. If one’s beliefs (and identity) are tied to the latter, the the latter may well be seen as a threat. If one is open to the former, then one might ask what is the nature of this wholeness. Some might say, for example, it is beautiful - like a dimension of paradise. The question then is how to know this beauty. Others might say, through the objects that were previously seen as totally separate.

That doesn't sound creepy in the slightest. "See how long they last".

What, are you praying for their downfall so your misguided view is proven correct or something? The Scandinavians are going from strength to strength, their social and economic models are admirable and faith has had zero influence on its success.

It must pain you to see people succeeding having rejected God, mustn't it.
Far from it, I hope all societies thrive and succeed. I'm just saying that if civilizations typically don't last long without religion, then a godless civilization that is early into its experiment with godlessness may not last long. Only time would tell.
