Remember the 5-1?

A lot on here might not do, but when we beat the rags 5-1 at Maine Road it was at a time when we weren't doing particularly well, were newly promoted and the rags were not that much better either, but we were still fairly big underdogs.

We proceeded to hammer them of course.

The irony now is that it seems City are now in the ascendency whilst the rags are in decline, but I would urge City fans to guard against complacency as there is nothing more dangerous than a wounded animal, and the rags will certainly be that this weekend. Time after time they have shown that they can pull out a result when the going is tough, and when people have started to write them off. I just hope that we are not the victims of that.

Write them off at your peril. I, for one, am shitting it.

I don't think anyone is complacent about this. On recent form, we should do it but it's a derby so who knows? Anyone who says they aren't shitting it is a liar.

remember it well, on the Tuesday in the week before we had league cup games, I went away to see us at Brentford, a team two divisions below us, and LOST 2-1. Terrible game.

On the Wednesday yoonighted were away at Pompey and raced into a 3-0 lead at half time, all the red twats singing: 'City, you are next, City City you are next!' I believed them too. It finished 3-2 to them but only because they took their foot off the gas.

Everything pointed to them dishing out the hammering.
What a great day.

Agreed some of the recent posts on here remind me of the CC semi against the rags lots of Bravado and bolloxs - simple fact is this - forget its a derby focus on the fact that if they lose then they will loose the prem title and the bragging rights against Murderpool - this is going to be a far far harder games than the semi's - can we win it yes even when we were shit we won derby's but Saturday is about desire, will, profesional pride and abvoe all else who wants it the most.

For me this is a must not lose game - a loss is unthinkable and yes i am utterely shitting it.

It would so put those two horrible experiences at the swamp to bed, were we to win it. I don't give a shit how we do it, either, just so long as we do. Anyone else think a draw would be a better result for us than for them, albeit not brilliant for either of us?

I am more thinking of a position from 4th - want to keep that points total ticking over.

A draw would suit us, especially if Chelsea win away at Spurs. Chelsea would be up for it because they'd know they can essentially win the title, and Spurs might be suffering from three matches in a week. The only problem with that scenario is if Chelsea win the title before their second to last fixtures, at Anfield.
Also, I fucking hate everton, absolutely can't stand Moyes, but I really hope they do us a favor on Wednesday.
9 points from out remaining matches should do it I think.

<- not 'shitting it' as several have said; and I wasn't for the OT match last year either.

We did the double over them a couple of season's back, and although at times we've been patchy and lose games we should easily win, it's not like we can't get results when we need to. Under Manciti we've also been improving our leaky defense.

it's a derby for crying out loud, and we all know what they are like....

'man up' people, ehhe

;o)

i'm not shitting it and i'm not a liar either

why, its only a game of football ffs

we've been here so many times, could be my sixtieth derby so i think i might have just got a little used to them
agreed that i'm really looking forward to it and hope we stuff them as always, but far from shitting it

You can't write them off thats for sure we are the form team going into the derby and perhaps it's my 27 years of going to watch City regular but I am getting thoughts in my "it's gonna be a typical city moment" though with the hurt of two last minute goals winning games for them hopefully the players will be so fired up that we are out of sight before the 4th official puts the board up!
