Remembering the Inflatable Banana craze / Stoke Boxing Day fancy dress party

Brilliant pics that you have saved over your 4 posts. Amazing to think that Blue Print only had a circulation of 2000 per issue yet word obviously spread via mouth.
Looking at the 3rd picture, one thing I noted was whenever Blue Print did a themed fancy dress party (like the Blues Brothers party at Palace end of 89/90 season) a group of Nazis would always turn up!
Now whether they hired the outfits or already had them and City fancy dress parties was a legitimate day they could get away with wearing them I never knew.... but always felt uncomfortable seeing them...
They will have been hired
I played in a fancy dress charity game and myself and a mate each both hired a German officer uniform
I spent the majority of the match holding the shorts up

This came a bit later
I appeared in the MEN a week before this one. The Police initially banned it as the previous season Birmingham fans had worn masks or a balaclava and rioted at Palace and the police couldn't identify anyone!
I had to go down to the MEN office on Deansgate and they took a pic of me and a friend in Blues Brothers attire to accompany the story as we pleaded with the police to let us hold the party and a few days before they gave us the go ahead.
Sadly I didn't save the MEN page.
I took photos on the day (remember King Henry 8th on the Special) and had all the photos for years until I emigrated and they ended up in Newton Heath tip

Was that the day City supporters carried a banner around the perimeter of Selhurst, wishing Palace good luck in the Cup final?

I’ve just seen this little snippet on the back of Issue 4:

Manchester City’s Garry Flitcroft saved England under-16s from Wembley embarrassment with a 69th minute equaliser against Israel in the Vauxhall Challenge Cup.

He played a one-two with Blackpool substitute Trevor Sinclair to finally break down a stubborn Israeli defence and wipe out the memory of a 37th minute blunder by goalkeeper Jonathan Stanger.

The Manchester United 15-year-old punched a corner from Avivi Zohar straight into his own net.
