Never been to Croatia but by all accounts it's popularity is very much on the rise, and soon to join the Euro so be a good time to go before this happens. Few people on here have said its a lovely country.

Dubrovnik is a beautiful city,but about 200 miles from Zadar,so I'd be tempted to fly there instead.
Croatia generally is a lovely country,with a fabulous coastline and some beautiful small islands,such as Korcula.
Used to be ludicrously cheap when it was part of Yugoslavia - I remember buying a beer and a slivovitz,(incredibly strong plum brandy),chaser for about 15 pence,but prices have sadly risen since.

it is lovely there..... cuisine is influenced by the italian. beer is cheap......
