I don’t want a ticket its a right Sh*tshow

i can guarantee watching the game on tv city fans will not be in individual seats
It'll be like one of those American prison buses. Escorted to your seat then shackled to it for the duration of the match to maintain distancing. It's really a test event to stop our crowd disappearing after 80 minutes... nothing to do with Covid

There's a very good reason the trains can't stop at Wembley Central, platform length! It's an H&S requirement for trains with automatic doors to be fully platformed, unless there's a safe way of working with SDO (selective door operation). In the case of the Avanti fleet, SDO can only be used at locations where fixed infrastructure (called balises) are installed. Balises are basically bits of lineside kit that send a message to the train's software to keep certain doors locked when the rest of the doors are released.
On the Avanti Network, they are only installed at Haymarket (Edinburgh), Lichfield Trent Valley and Manchester Piccadilly platforms 13 and 14 for diverted services.
Vic - I meant the railway station not the tube one, I got the names mixed up.

Yes obviously changed a lot since I did my BR stint in the 80s. Back then the micro switches on the door buttons would get really dirty and stick closed, so when the guard unlocked the doors at the station, the doors with a dirty switch would fly open, and anyone leaning on them would end up on the platform or track if the train was too long. I guess the new system you've described is progress.

Would shorter trains get round the problem ?

Oh hell, City->Logic->Road-to-nowhere somethings never change.

Where there's a will, there's a way. Get some 7UP 500ml bottles, get rid of that shite and fill with lovely ale.
Under the

Sporting Event (Control of Alcohol etc) Act 1985

It is an offence to serve alocohol, be in posession of alocohol or be drunk on a coach or train principally used for transporting people to or from football matches. So there won't be any alcohol on sale.

You normally get at least 2 bottles/cans of beer, often 3 in first class and well as the food on that journey.

It isn't really first class if they don't have food or drink on offer, they really need to clarify what you get. Most people in 1st will only be there as they have no choice if they want a match ticket, as there won't be any benefit on a half full train if there is no food/drink offer.

Like you really care where I am. Fuck you Kyle.
As my old mam would have no doubt said... "What a bloody palaver"

So much desperation on here by people who just want to be able to say "I was there".... Save your money; stay in, watch the match on the telly, have a pint or two in a comfortable seat, and be home in time for Antiques Road Show.
