Return of Supporters

If they run with the 2 Finals as a test but with social distancing it will raise another issue, ie travel to Wembley. Not so much for Spuds fans but certainly for us Blues, many of whom would normally travel by coach. I assume this would also require social distancing en route. Thus less seats available per coach. By my estimation, the cost per seat on our usual SC coach would need to at least double in order to cover the cost of the coach hire for the day. That's assuming enough of us who usually use the coach manage to get a ticket. For fans who drive by car, car-sharing between different households may still not be permitted under Covid rules so another obstacle for Northern-based Blues.
That basically leaves the train - not always an option dependent on where you live.
The implications of a reduced attendance therefore run a lot deeper than whether us fans get a ticket or not. For those that do, it could well be a very expensive day out and beyond the budget of many. Bit of a can of worms all round, if you ask me.

I wouldn't be going, even if things were "normal". I reckon the trip over for last year's final, once flights, ticket, hotel for two nights, and spendipoos, was totted up, must have been well over £200, maybe nearer to £300. I can't justify that sort of outlay on one game.

Talk about finding negatives from a positive. Come on mate we haven’t been to a match for over a year at that point I’m sure an extra 50 quid isn’t going to be off putting for those that want to go.

I think you've missed the point I was making. I wasn't at all turning a positive into a negative. Loads of us can't wait to get back to watching City again and an extra £50 wouldn't stop me. The fact remains that tickets are bound to be in shorter supply for these finals with social distancing in place, and doubtless a ballot system in operation. I've never had a problem in qualifying for a Wembley ticket but the luck of the ballot may change things for me and many others. Obviously lots of us will want to go, the problems being that some who get a ticket may not have a viable transport option. Vice versa, some who have a transport option available may not get a ticket. I would have thought that's obvious. It's not just about an extra 50 quid, it's about logistics - it could run into another couple of hundred quid (or more) if the only option available is train & overnight stop. That's if you're lucky enough to get a ticket. Some may see the extra cost as beyond their budget. Maybe not you, but others will.
 
I’d have to arrive 10 days earlier and stay in a hotel doing my impression of Alan Partridge waiting for my quarantine period to finnish - think I’ll pass this year unfortunately
 
I work in the horse racing industry... we are looking at late April early May to welcome back crowds, current estimations at about 35% of capacity.
 
The pilots were planned from 1st August 2020, the date of the FA Cup Final. It didn't happed.

It looks made up with no evidence just conjecture.

"Wembley could welcome socially distanced fans at test events" - it could do, no fucking shit.

Not if they tell the fans the week before though, and if it is decided a month before there will be other games first.

Most sports were looking around that % for October last year based on the SGSA guide, it won't work for York, maybe it will at Bangor on Dee. The Gov likely to put their own caps in again.
 
Martyn Ziegler in the Times reports that League Cup Final and FA Cup Final will be tests events for the return of supporters. Doesn't specify the numbers.

I think like everything else the possibility of this entirely depends on the variants. By then we'll know.
 
There is an article the Mail today that says there will be between 18000 to 22500 spectators to see the Carabao cup and Fa cup final,they will be used for test events before hosting the Euro games.

Agreed re the Government, however the 2000 attendance figure was completely arbitrary, with rapid flow testing & elements of social distancing still in place, most venues should be able to accommodate a third of their normal capacity reasonably easily and more importantly safely.

If that is the case then that must mean some sort of vaccine passport will be in place as how else can you ensure that everyone has had two jabs.
