Richards Interview (The Sun With Quotes)

i disagree with who say "micah is brainless"

i believe he has got a good brain and he is a very smart guy.

smart enough to had understood where City is going.

City is going to figth against Clubs like barcelona , real madrid , inter , bayern.

their RB are called maicon , lahm , sergio ramos , dani alves.

and , rightly , micah knows he is in a completely different world from them.

he understood it. some fans still no

Micah the best right back at the club? Seriously? Don't understand how people say he's a better footballer than Zab yet then question other peoples intelligence. Irony is brilliant.

I'd let him go. He showed so much promise, but it just has not materialised. He's a big lad, and I'm sure that has carried him this far, but it's about time that he started getting a bit tactical nouse, and I don't see it in him. If he shut up and got on with it, then fine, but he needs to realise that he is not going to be first choice at the present time.

Putting aside all the childish vitriol which is pretty much becoming par for the course on this forum, it seems to me like a "come and get me" interview which has been sanctioned by the club.

Either that or Micah's been t a p p e d u p . And if he has we shouldn't really complain about it as we've become pretty adept at unsettling players ourselves when it suits us.

I personally think right back is a problem position for us anyway, as long term neither Zaba nor Boateng are good enough. Micah has improved this season and personally I think it'd be a shame if he left, but there are a lot of players at City right now who would happily go to a 'mid table' premiership club to play regular football. Anyone who slags a player off for doing that has really let our new found wealth go to their heads IMO...
course he`s been tapped up its just disapointing he`s putting extra money ahead of a bit of glory with us

He's probably not the best right back in his own house.

It would be a great shame to lose one of the few Academy graduates we have left in the first team, however I can't help but think this article stinks of having been tapped up.

In an ideal world, I would like Micah to say with us and continue the positive development he has shown over the last 12 or so months. He's only 22, and has the right Manager to improve him as a defender - as has been shown by the dramatic upturn in form of Kompany, Kolo Toure, Zabaleta and de Jong since Mancini arrived at the Club.

However if he's been promised to be an automatic first starter at another Club, and Capello has told him this is what he needs to play for England, I guess you can't blame him for wanting to pursue it.

I only hope it isn't Spurs, as this would ruin him as a defender. As entertaining as they are to watch, they are essentially a slightly more sophisticated version of the Keegan principle - if they score 6, we'll score 7. Their defence must be a nightmare to play in, and I fear Micah would be horribly exposed in their system.

I think we can rest easy on that score in terms of selling to Spurs.

Of course, Harry would be interested, but there is no way we would sanction it to a direct main rival.

Maybe Micah has got wind the interest in Dani Alves remains strong?

Liverpool would be a more likelier destination, especially as Glen Johnson seems to be out the door?

Either way, if we got more than £8m for him, would be shocked.

Some people here really need to take a reality check.
The players shouldn't have to just shut up and get on with it because they're getting paid well. IF they're not getting their game, and they're annoyed about it, they are entitled to speak about it if they want, once they're not being disrespectful, and he's not. They don't have to toe the line, just because we're doing well.
He's not playing, and he can say he's annoyed if he likes, same way that he can leave if he wants because he's not valued as a player.

We can't hold onto every player because they're good and we're too afraid to give them to a fair bidder.
So the alternate is that we either loan players, which seems doubtful or screw them over and only sell them to shit teams, because we see them as a threat. These players have done alot for us, we should tream them with respect.

We can't keep hoarding players. It's not good for morale and genuinely it's a waste of talent.

hope your right there ..he comes over well to me But he`s not good enough
i fail to understand the club letting players get away with this sort of stuff
Maybe its an elaborate ploy because its not doing us much harm

We can't go a month without something or someone just causing us a little bit more trouble.

Seriously. Why didn't he just speak to Mancini. Why The Sun?

Idiot.

Ya fine, but if Mancini isn't listenting to him..we just can't expect them to continue to toe the line, smile and nod, if they're not being listened to.

he is playing though, he's had 17 starts this season. You can't justify this article whatever way you try DD.

Haven't you read it? The only ultimatum is in the sun's headline.

True enough mate.

I suppose I just generally view these 'deals via the media' type situations as having all the hallmarks of the Twitcher. It seems to be his MO.

I'm encouraged to hear of our resolve not to sell to them though - backs up the Bellamy stance from the Summer, I suppose.

Like I said - I can't really begrusge him going to get regular 1st taem football, if that's what he's been promised, I just feel it would be shame to lose an Academy gradute with time on his side who actually seems to be improving his game.

I'm not saying he's right, I'm just saying people can't expect him to smile and nod and clap along, saying everythings fine City side, if he's not, if he's not being listened to or whatever, he's not going to just sit by and smile.

Remind me again who signed Micah's contract for him?
