All common sense mate.

he is playing though, he's had 17 starts this season. You can't justify this article whatever way you try DD.

I'm not justifying it, I'm just trying to be rational about it in the face of all the usual kneejerk nastiness. It isn't the end of the world, it isn't anything which will destabilise the club, it's just a sensationalist headline from an honest interview. Yes, I've already stated he could have been a bit cannier. But that's all. He's playing well, I'd like to keep him and that's it. I'd also understand if he needs to move on, especially if we sign a right back in the summer. As we improve players will be left behind. It doesn't make them traitors or wankers or thick or disloyal or any of that daft fan overreaction shit.

I would like to strongly disagree.

No need to go public like a bitch to the papers with ultimatums Micah. Silly boy.

Ya fine, but if Mancini isn't listenting to him..we just can't expect them to continue to toe the line, smile and nod, if they're not being listened to.

That would be fine. I have no issues with his feelings. If he wants 1st team football and Mancini cannot guarantee that, fine, leave. But he doesn't need to go to the press. He could have kept this inhouse and had his agent find a club.

I don't know why he doesn't start. Boateng doesn't look natural at all playing RB. Micah is clearly better.

It would be a mistake for us to sit him.

I agree with this completely.

He's the best right back at the club in the best form. Zabalata's been strong but he's too slow. Boateng's a centre half.

There's nothing wrong with this interveiw, it's obvious that our young England players want to play every week. I'd be disappointed if they didn't.

Give him a run in the shirt,Mancini and make him make it his own.

I am with both these comments and have said so. He has buckled down and listened to the management and played some of his best football for years. He will get better if stays and is allowed to flourish.

I don't like the article but agree with what he is saying.

If SWP has done this interview - i'd say he was more "entitled" to what would be the reaction?

Micah is getting game time and not just against lesser clubs. He should button it.

I don't have an issue with Richards speaking to Mancini about him being unhappy at the lack of first team games/opportunities, however, I'm not a fan of going to newspapers or stating it publically if asked. I appreciate there is often a media narrative with these things and that perhaps he's merely looking to publically attract potential clubs, but the question I have, is 'should Richards be in the first team more?'

My honest answer based on this season, is that he is rather unfortunate not to be. I am not his biggest fan at all. I have constantly made reference to his 'lapses' in concentration at critical periods, his inability to mark tight without giving fouls away, his positional sense being 're-defined' by himself alone, however I would certainly argue, Boateng in particular has looked no better, if worse. I appreciate he had no pre season, and an injury, and that the premier league is a different ball game to the german league in terms of tempo in the mind and on the ball, and he needs games to adapt, however, Richards can feel himself unlucky, because he has arguably performed more consistently this season when in the side, than I can remember for a long time.

Zabaleta is a good squad player with a great attitude, if lacking discipline himself at times. I would probably argue Richards at home just about deserves a place on present form, and I would keep Zabaleta at left back, because the jury is certainly still out on Kolarov for me. Havent seen a good left back at City for fucking donkeys years. He got turned in side out away at Newcastle by Routledge, who really is NOT a top level player, hence playing him against Walcott would have been suicidal

Since when has being part of the England set up had any prestige?
These players and more importantly their agents make me laugh, obviously Richards (and his agent) see him playing thirty eight games plus at a top four Club. Not at somewhere like Stoke or Birmingham for far less money.
Who advises the advisors?
He should let his feet do the negotiating,oh wait he has been doing just that.
That's why he doesn't start every game, because he just aint good enough.
Nice touch dragging AJ and SWP into your sun interveiw Micah,as if they don't have enough problems of their own getting a game.
Buy yourself another car, that should cheer you up.

Anyone else smell something here??

Micah is possibly one of the most inarticulate interviewees in the footballing world and yet the Sun quotes him like he is the poet laureate of soccer.

Anyone else spotted the agent's invisible hand?? Tata Micah old buddy.

and how do you know if he's been listened to? the only person who really knows that is Mancini.

I'm saying if, but if things were right, he wouldn't be going to the media, if he had a good meeting with Mancini he wouldn't be talking to the papers, so I'm going to make the presumption, that in his mind, Mancini didn't listen to him.

Haven't you read it? The only ultimatum is in the sun's headline.

Dave, come on fella. You are an intelligent guy, even if we don't often agree but one can read between the lines.

I'm not saying he's right, I'm just saying people can't expect him to smile and nod and clap along, saying everythings fine City side, if he's not, if he's not being listened to or whatever, he's not going to just sit by and smile.

well if you're not saying he's right then he's in the wrong which suggests he's not all there if he's moaning about getting plenty of game time at a top 4 club.

And forgive me, but did he not play on wednesday? it's squad rotation, keep him fresh, share the games out over xmas. He played Villa and Arsenal, Boateng played Newcastle and Blackpool, what's his problem? AJ played Villa and Blackpool and came off the bench for Arsenal and Newcastle, the only person who could have a qualm is SWP but he's not run to the press about it and he's not good enough simple as.

to manage a top team is a very difficult task.

often top team managers have to do hard choices. they have to say to some nice guy "you are not good enough for us"

sometime this managers are lucky enough to get players who understand without being told.

mancini is one of this lucky ones.

I think the point is that he doesn't want to leave and this is a form of either getting attention from Mancini or getting attention from other clubs.
But anyway, there's a form of double standard going around here. Tevez does it or Hart and all things are rosey and daisy, and god no please don't leave. But a player like Richards does it and it's shut up or fuck off.
There's very little loyalty left in the game and it's very sad if you ask me.

Jesus I'm not saying he's right, I'm just understanding why he's doing it.
He's got a lot of game time, and personally I don't think there's much to complain about when you've players like Given getting nothing, but I can see why he's doing it.
And like I said, he's not happy playing just 17 games all season, and he's not going to smile about it just for the sake of City's image. No matter how much we want him to.

tevez is good enough . hart is good enough. they has to stay.

micah is not good enough . Given IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. they can go if they want.

he can't complain about a lack of playing time, so he's being an idiot and we shouldn't accept any player going to press spouting a load of bs.

He's playing ok, nothing overly special, I think he will go, because Boateng will be given time and I think Zaba is better than him and more versatile and committed, but I'm sick of players(not just at our club) but in general coming out and slagging off their clubs to get moves or better deals, the majority of employees wouldn't dare to do it in public because you know what, they'd get punished or sacked, you keep it in house and show some respect and professionalism, I don't see why it can't be cracked down on in football.
