Richards- whats happened ?

I'll be honest I'd written Richards off a long time ago but he's really impressed lately. He was a real threat going forward today and what i loved most was his passion and was totally comitted with every challenge. I'm still not 100% on his defensive duties but i reckon he'd make a decent right sided midfield player in future. Keep it up Micah, I was proud of you today.

If you ignore that spell in Hughes' first season where the entire defence was wank he's been fairly consistent in general play. Just feel things have been coming off for him more in recent weeks. Like the goal at Stoke or the assist at Notts County and maybe he's made a few less mistakes than he used to make.

What I mean to say really is he's always been this dominant in the air and the tackle. Just his mistakes over shadowed it.

Was very surprised by how consistently good he was today after seeing him get embarrassed regularly in past derbies. Touch wood as we've had these false starts before, but he does seem to have found extra quality and some brainpower he'd been lacking and is quite dangerous going forward in comparison to our other options at RB (Boateng and Zabaleta). That spot has to be close to his own now, Boateng should be CB if Mancini has lost faith in Kolo as Lescott not good enough.

He was always a better right back than centre half. So to see him play as well as he has done in the team at right back doesnt surprise me. All he needs is a run of games and he will be a first pick in that position.

excellent today. very resourceful with the ball too, which is quite unlike him.

I think he's lost a bit of bulk, seemed to lose a bit of pace over last year. Looks to have regained that now, think an England call definitely beckons.

He has played really well the last few games, got to be first choice RB for England soon.

On a side note - GUTTED :( .... but proud that we had a go.
