The big question has to be: how long will it be before we're regularly churning out truly top talent like united?
right, where are they?

It'll take a lot of hard work and effort until we can regularly produce world beaters like Cleverley, Welbeck and Evans. For now, we should modestly aim for £20-30m talents like Campbell, O'Shea and Wes Brown and hope we luck into producing a Cleverley-esque superstar.

What happens to that guy, brahim abdelkader diaz and zacharias faour, werent they the next messi and ibra? How good have they done and will they be half as good as their predecessors. I dont exactly live in europe so I have no info on our youth. We also had the the next schmeichel and the next iniesta ( who I dont think arrived yet due to nigerian rules and iheanacho) (and also im only talking about the non eds because I have info about them)

Diaz is only 14 perhaps 15, Faour is 15 perhaps 16 now (and in the U18's squad). I wouldn't be too impatient to see them in the first team yet.Davidgoldensilva said:

It's interesting looking at the composition of the two squads. I have to say we have 4 outstanding goalkeepers listed as part of the EDS squad so I don't know how that is going to work out!ColinLee said:

Just to let you know the reason Alex Henshall name still appears in the above, is because their is an 'internal server' error which wont allow his profile to be deleted, but dont worry 'Ric' is looking into it and yes Henshall signed for Ipswich

Swan has been back on trial at Leeds, the club we poached him (and Hutton who was also released) from for about £750k compensation. Other Championship clubs also after him.
Think Kieran Kennedy has joined Leicester permanently although Sky Sports oddly listed it as a loan renewal even though City had him on the list of released players.
City had a pretty aggressive recruitment drive of promising young British teens from other clubs in 2009-10 (Henshall, Swan, Hutton, Huws), but only Huws has come anywhere close to having a chance.
Might explain why we seem to poach so few British lads now in the 15-16 age group and instead use our own and add foreign kids instead.
