Rio Olympics

Don't get me wrong, he's an amazing wonderful athlete, but I've had this argument several times today where people have said he's the greatest athlete ever because of his medal count. No one will convince me it's not Sir Steve (mainly as I've completed against him to so I'm biased).

Fair enough. I wouldn't go so far as to say the best athlete ever, that would have to go to some decathlete somewhere along the line. Still, it's absolutely amazing and to have done it for four Olympics in a row. I consider is an honour to be alive to see it, it's a record that will take some beating.

Five mate. Five in a row. Twenty years at the top of his game in a sport where you have to train 360 days a year for 4-6 hours a day. And he had diabetes and colitis for the last 6 years.

(He also got a bronze with his gold in his fist olympics in the coaxed paid - before they retired that event)

Had a laugh tonight when the presenter said the Brazilians were really getting behind the games!

I was watching the Hockey being played in an empty stadium.

Just like every other venue, whatever the sport, spectators are few in number.

I suppose the Brazillians aren't really interested in sport, as there are so few of them in attendance.

I don't remember such a badly attended games in my life. It must be a pisser for for all those athletes that have worked so hard and sacrificed so much to get there.

It's not what you would expect, winning a gold medal in front of one man and his dog!

Really, really getting tired of all the fucking commentators shooting and fucking screaming. Loved the diving last night, but one of the commentators needed fucking off.

If anyone was watching weightlifting yesterday they saw something impressive. One lad from Kazakhstan had one lift left, had silver in the bag. Went up a huge 12 kg, from 202kg to 214kg, (normally they go up in 3/4/5/6kg tops) to break the world record and take gold from China. Couldn't contain himself receiving the medal. Enjoyed a lot of events yesterday, good day.

She is a very good looking lass.

I know her and her fella (He's a Royal Marine) and they're a great couple.

Both are an absolute delight to talk to.

You'd better give me her number then so we can have a chat....

Joking aside, she was the only diver out of all the pairs that seemed to have a personality, laughing and chatting with her partner after the dives. And she could dive a bit an' all.

Wow, don't know whether anyone just seen that table tennis rally between the Japanese and Chinese athlete, it was unbelievable.

I'll let her know she has another admirer :)

Yeah she's an extremely nice lass and very easy to chat to.

Her fella is a top bloke too. Unfortunately, he's a rag haha

Just watched that on the BBC, what a rally! Immense.

Just seen Murray win his match. Man alive he has some fighting skills that fella, 3-0 down in the third set, looked dead and buried and he came back to win it 6-3. Nice touch at the end, signed 3 match balls and then hit them into the stands. The fans loved it.
