I don't think we've been told the entire story.
I don't understand why people would riot over the death of an apparent and alleged 'gangster'. It would be nice to hear from some of the people that chose to riot last night; were they people of the community that have a real grievance with what has happened these past few days, or are they spongers that expect a living to b given to them by this world?
Because imo, it would change the way this issue should be dealt with.
It started off as a small peaceful gathering apparently, according to the family of the guy who was killed..
'This guy was not violent. Yes, he was involved in things but he was not an aggressive person. He had never hurt anyone.'
Personally, I think that if you're involved in crime and drugs and all that, it's a hazard of your life and, while obviously nobody wants anyone to be killed, it's what they should expect.
Anyway, whether it was wrong or right, I know that shooting anyone is an awful experience that whichever cop did it, did not do it lightly, so it was hardly without cause.
Secondly it does not justify the actions of everyone else. They say they were looking for justice, these are the actions of thugs, not people who follow the law.
Criminals who have ruined the houses and streets, and shops, ruined it for the locals living there, (I can't see the locals doing that to their own backyard, can you?)
You've unarmed police officers (most of them are anyway) facing down these animals, 40 odd of them have been injured, and hopefully no more will get injured. And when it's finished, I hope that the full arm of the law comes crashing down on these thugs, each and everyone of them. That goes for the guys starting fires to the 12 year old clowns throwing rocks. It will be no more than they deserve.
I don't care what happened before hand, why anyone was protesting. Nothing justifies this, simple as.
Ya the police can be idiots, but I don't envy them. It's a bloody hard job they've to do.
