I was saddened to hear last week of the passing of Paul Francis. He was a big blue in more ways than one and was a season ticket holder. He drove buses and the tram around Manchester. He was a member of the St. Winefreds football team in the Heaton Mersey area of Stockport both when attending the junior school in the 70's and then as an amateur in the Stockport and Reddish South Manchester league (or it could have been named Stockport & East Cheshire). He went to St. Anne's in Heaton Chapel as his secondary school.
He was a lovely guy and his heart was pure gold. He will be missed by all of his mates and I'm sure by fellow blues who new him and who sat around him in the ground. If you came into contact with Paul please leave any comments and I will make sure his older brother Andy and his younger brother Steve get to read them. I'll never forget standing with him, his brothers, our crew of blues and his dad Trevor smoking a cigar on the Kippax, and shouting 'Come on City...finish them off'.

He sent me a WhatsApp picture years ago of a selfie of him surrounded by blues at the ground but I can't find it hence the delay in posting this news. Please feel free to post if anyone knew him.

RIP blue brother.

I didn’t know him but he is one of those faces that I recognise from watching City over the years. He’s not much older than me. We’ll all be stood shoulder to shoulder on the Kippax in the sky eventually. RIP
