Seemed a bit strange to suddenly realise that there are unused/disused holiday camps and university halls of residence that would be cheaper than hotels! I'm not sure where they'll find disused halls of residence though - I wouldn't have thought that universities, etc, had lots of empty space.

Exactly. Tories created this mess by refusing to process immigrants. They then can't claim benefits and have to be housed somewhere outside of local authority control. Hence the hotel bills. This mess was created by them to give the impression immigration is out of control and costing too much. Many of these people would take a job straight away but the government chosses to ban them from working. Its all manufactured.
