3) It isn't just the physical resemblance, Roddy Saint James is a pampered pet rat that lives in West London and his only friends are toys and he struggles to relate to people outside his bubble.

Yeah, it‘s more about people learning what they can and can’t post on social media.To be fair to Bernardo he was culturally ignorant and didn't mean it that way but the chocolate boy from Conquitos is definitely a racist caricature.

A caricature, by definition is highlighting appearance or behaviour in a comedic or critical way.
I guess the issue is where the critical side overtakes the humorous one. Blurred lines and an appetite to find fault fuels most social media debates/pile ons/cancellation requests.
