Rishi Sunak

So either he is a massive shithouse scared of live tv interviews or the bbc have purposely decided to do pre recorded scripted managed interviews for the ****
It was stated prior to the viewing that No 10 had requested that the location and time had changed to Downing Street.

Turned off following that statement as it then becomes scripted.

I d9n't know why otnis asked except as a question that takes up interview time and avoids important questions, while LK can acy like she is asking tough questions

he probably was happy it was asked rather than ones that will show his government up

The thing is it looked worse that he then waffled about it.
He could have just quoted Thatcher's statement and stood by it - it really wouldn't surprise anyone, and does no real harm (IMO).
An attack of "you should use the NHS" can easily be rebutted that private healthcare isn't illegal.

He's playing the tried and true prevaricator role this morning. Kuenssberg asking questions which should elicit a yes or no, Rishi proceeds to walk round the houses.

He did, sometimes blatantly trying to answer something else, sometimes to roll off the spiel of plans, and doing a lot of talking over her.

So he will talk about pay for next year with the nurses but not 22/23 , that will fail and he knows it but is trying to put up the illusion that they tried and it is the nurses fault if they say no

Massive ****

I say again a pointless question, he will naturally have it he is a milti millionaire and believer in the private sector for public services.

Laura K wasted valuable time on a pointless question we all knew the answer to, probably on purpose

Not really. She did a good job of revealing his spineless nature of not being able to articulate and stand by his principles.

But it doesn’t change the optics. Not only has he convinced us he uses a private GP, he has shown us his is pretty disingenuous. That can’t be the best cost/benefit scenario to such a question.

Don’t know who’s advising him, but refusing to answer the question always makes it a bigger political issue. We all know he has a private GP, so just own up to it. He’s made it more of a story than it really is.
