So surrounding him by much higher quality players, with probably the worlds best football training and sports science facilities, plus the worlds best manager should make him world class. Don't agree on either count but I think it's safe to say with the ability in our squad anyone going missing or not working will have a great view of the match from their seat in the dugout.

After those two we'll have to sell to make room for anyone else so a significant upgrade would have to become available at a favourable price. Personally I think Txiki and his staff will be getting their work done early on future targets after those two.

In fact, we have a hierarchy of players - those who will play most games if fit unless needing rotation and lesser-talented/performing players who will fill in where appropriate. Some players move up and down the ladder, starting more or less often due to performances/injuries.

For the money we're paying (even adjusted for the post-Neymar transfer fee inflation), Mahrez would initially land high up in the hierarchy of potential starters. Should we sign him, he'll need to prove his mettle.

Great signing, imo, I’ve said before but I remember when he ripped Clichy apart for 90 mins a few seasons ago at the Etihad, it was fucking embarrassing, he didn’t know which way he was going.

Pep has already said dave will play less next season,i will never be happy to not see him and kev but it's not really what we want,it's a squad game now for better or worse
