Strange how the commentators were praising new signing Diabate in the Leicester game at Peterborough and saying how he was a ready-made replacement for Mahrez. Hadn't twigged that we might be interested in the latter.

Why not. I feel the likes of Diaz & Foden need a loan to a club in the Prem to prove themselves. I want both to succed but at the moment we're aiming for 4 trophies and we've not much room for error bar the Prem. Maybe once / if we win the Prem they can get valuable game time.

Very similar feel to Sanchez in the summer, although Leicester have brought in Diabate, which was more of a safety net for what they felt would happen in the summer with Mahrez. But our situation has given them something to think about.
The issue will be his valuation. But we also knew they wouldn't accept any offer today, bearing in mind it's deadline day tomorrow....which is why we have gone in relatively low. Deal with Mahrez was finished yesterday, hence the transfer request, so tomorrow will be tying up things with Leicester. City very optimistic. Fingers crossed.

Just checked and he played over 30 liga games as a 21 yr old. But he is one of the greatest players of all time. But your point is valid.
