Mirror - Robinho could be on his way back to Manchester City this season following a row over his salary.

The Brazil star, currently in his homeland on loan at Santos, is at the centre of a dispute over who is responsible for paying his wages.

Robinho joined Santos from City in January on the condition the club would pay his £160,000-a-week wages, which they planned to meet through sponsorship.

But with Santos reportedly having been unable to raise the necessary finance to pay his wages, the player’s loan move could ultimately fall through.

That could mean a return to Eastlands for the 26-year-old, who has hinted at a return to Manchester by paying the £2million rent on his Cheshire home until January 2011.

Although reports that Robinho was not paid for his first month with Santos have been denied, it is understood there are serious concerns future payments may not be met.

In order to raise the cash to take him on loan, Santos agreed deals with three sponsors, all of whom would benefit from using the player’s image to sell their products.

Now one of those deals is said to have collapsed, while the other two, with Seara and Volkswagen, have still to be agreed by all parties.

With average crowds of just 10,000 and gate receipts totalling little more than £60,000 per game, Santos cannot afford to pay him without the aid of sponsors.

Robinho, who moved to Santos to save his World Cup place after falling out of favour at City, has been an instant hit at his new club, with four goals in five games.

I've just invented this, I reckon it could be useful, whatcha think lads?

Just maybe he's realising what a good thing he had at City and regrets his behaviour. I believe he needed Santos to get to the world cup. If that's so his four goals in five matches for the Brazilians should seal that and now he wants to get back to where the money is. Whatever else he is, he's not stupid.
The question is; do we want him back? If he commits to the club and puts in the necessary work, I think we could use him.

My own feeling is that it would be a retrospective step to take him back.

As far as I can see the club bent over backwards to accomodate his every whim, but it still wasn't enough. He wanted out and was prepared to go to any lengths to engineer a move away from the club that paid his wages.

"Santos? Hmmm. Not really my first choice. I was rather hoping Barca might take me in. But still, if the mugs here will continue to pay my wages and let me play in a tin-pot league where I'll be treated like the new Messiah, then that'll have to do."

Sorry chaps, but the Robinho we saw in his first stint in the Prem is but a distant memory.

He just can't hack it in Europe.

lol hardly showing the love for santos if he's not willing to at least take a pay cut. reckon he has totally fucked his career, being between a club who are to skint to pay his wages, and a club he has royally fucked over and most of the supporters now couldnt give a shit (me included)

He should just swallow his pride, apologise and realise that there are some people who know more about football than him.

Santos cant afford my wages

AH well i will just go back to those fukin mugs in Manchester and collect my 160 grand a week for doing fuck all

.

Robinho is playing on-loan at Santos with Neymar and knows City and Chelsea are chasing his young teammate.

The Daily Mail says Neymar is ready to take Robinho's advice and snub a move to Chelsea or Manchester City.

The 18-year-old, who has been backed by Pele to go to the World Cup finals this summer, is reluctant to leave his homeland at such a young age after being told to stay put by the City loan star and his own father.

Keep it shut gob shite
