Roberto Mancini

Hope he stays a long long time as he knows the game like few other young-ish managers. I just fear if we have one bad season in the future he might get the boot when, unless he completely loses if like Rafa (unlikely), he could build an empire here over years.

I have it on good authority that he came from a country in southern Europe that borders on the Mediterranean and that was home to an empire of Latin speakers only to travel to the north west to manage a football team that is the best in all the land and all the world.

I wanted him to replace Hughes, quite early on in Hughes' tenure with us actually (was never a fan, but he's bought some excellent players for us so fair play in that regard). But yeah, was ecstatic to see he'd signed with us and now look where we are, a lot closer to the title than I feel we would have got with Hughes in charge. Winning it should be our target, we have the players, we have the staff and now we have the mentality.

Long may his reign continue.

Posts: 6006 Just wondered if anyone who really was not a Bobby fan,had a change of heart over the past 10 days.
I accept its early days, but anyone brave enough to admit that yes he`s now trying to set his stall out in a more attacking minded way ??
We all knew that he won the Italian League with a very positive sytle of attacking play.
Perhaps he just didn`t feel confortable with the lack of his "type of player" to move us up,to the next level.
I must admit that I was wary at first, some 18 months ago,but I`ve never publically slated him,but must admit I did not like some of his tactics at the time.
Bring more of it on Bobby when we have to.
Only concern and its not a Bobby problem, but a team one,we need to kill teams off, when we have the chance.

Sorry but is this much different than my thread ????
