Roberto Mancini

I wonder what the reaction would be on here if David Silva or Pab Zab had said what Bridge said?

Mancini gave us some of the best moments we've had as Blues but that doesn't mean he wasn't a total twat a lot of the time. And Wayne Bridge might not be a City legend, and it might well be sour grapes, but that doesn't mean he wasn't right.

That is a load of nonsense. If Zaba and Silva weren't happy then I would respect their opinions, this is hardly new information about Mancini.

Bridge piping up every so often to tell tales on how bad Mancini was because his own career amounted to fuck all and has nothing else going on his life annoys me.

I have no respect for someone who sat on his arse and did fuck all for this club, he has even had a laugh about injuring himself whilst on holiday and then to get around the backlash from it he got Nedum to put one on him to "injure" him. How can you have any sort of respect for someone who not only did that but is more than happy to laugh about it.

Mancini was hardly wrong on how he treated Bridge imo, we got what we needed when Roberto joined, someone who took no shit and saw through the mercenaries we had at the time. He fucked them off sharpish and our results after reflected it.

Nicely put, they won’t have it though.

Yet wiped the biggest ones arse in Balotelli. If someone wasn’t treating you properly, just as a human I’d probably take the piss too. Don’t think Bridge was strong enough mind, Mancini done well in weeding out some of the shit.

On this debate I think it’s a bit of both. I think Mancini didn’t treat him well, I think Bridge didn’t perform well either. A lot of ex footballers are doing these shit interviews and podcasts, answering questions I suppose so I don’t blame Bridge for it being brought up, does need to be let go now though.

It's fair comment and I believe you would get similar from Vincent and Hart - I would still suggest it's bollocks.

He and his backroom staff did improve the players (Zabaleta is the perfect example of this). The idea that they didn't play a part in the title win is simply ridiculous.............

I think it was well known a lot of players didn't get along with Mancini. The difference is Zab and Silva were professional enough and did the business on the field, even if they hated Mancini ( I'm not sure if they did or not.) Bridge criticism just comes across as sour grapes because he wasn't good enough or mentally strong enough to buckle down and try to rectify his situation. The only thing he has to talk about from his time in football is Mancini and Terry.

I don't think many players liked Mancini by the end, but most are big enough to admit that he gets results, and that the fans love him because he promised to tear the banner at the swamp down and shut Ferguson up and he did both. He's a rightful legend among blues and the smarter players who understand the club respect that.

Bridge was absolute garbage for us, when he could be bothered to play for us. I vaguely remember he played well against Chelsea but other than that he looked out of his depth. He looked like he couldn't be arsed and let's be honest he wasn't replaced by world beaters - Clichy and Kolarov were of similar ability but these two actually put a shift in. He didn't.

Mancini was right to call him out. I can't believe Bridge has got the cheek to have a god at his record. City hadn't won a trophy in decades, Mancini comes in and wins 3 and lost a final. I don't know what Bridge expected, but it's FAR more impressive than anything he did in his career.

Bridge should keep his mouth shut and stop embarrassing himself.

And to be fair to Mancini, we did need someone to upset and disrupt players to move them on as they were on huge salaries but we weren't getting the return on them.

I imagine that was actually part of his remit and why we identified him as the right person for the job.........

When he spots John Terry leaving training early..........

he's saying we won the league purely because of the players, but he picked the team and the tactics, just like southgate did with by far the best squad in the euros, the difference being southgate was clueless when it came to picking the team and tactics, look at Ole at the wheel, some great players but clueless, you dont win anything with a shit manager

spoke to him quite a bit when on holiday to Bermuda a year or two back. Nice lad and lovely family.
