Re: Mancini on Sky talking about City

We loved him. He still loves us. Did his best and brought us success. End of story. Don't get the ill feeling between fans towards him. His season after winning the title wasn't great. This one isn't exactly spellbinding is it ?
We have a side to our fan base that I always think of as the "Colin Schindler wing".
It's not Mancini per se they have a problem with. It's the idea of ANYBODY finally bringing success to our club. He ruined their little bubble of "I'm cool me, I support city, and they're like, you know, all rubbish and everything"
Probably every club has them.
It wouldn't have mattered one iota if we had appointed Pellers when we appointed Mancini. They would simply have hated HIM instead. Or mourinho, or guardiola. It wouldn't have mattered. Whoever killed off "little City" was always going to get it from them, sat behind their keyboards in the Admiral tracksuit tops.
For the record I adored Mancini, all the more so because in this modern day and age he wasn't afraid of or intimidated by anybody. Not his millionaire players. Not the size of the job he was brought into do. And not Any other managers.
He's gone though. I think it was a monumental mistake to sack him the way we did. We sent a message out to all the (present and future) city players that "YOU are bigger than the club. And the manager"
We're paying the price for that this season as well.
Fuerza Pelligrini, but Mancini will ALWAYS be "the one"
