Neither Yaya nor Nasri have the 'industry', that mopping up thing that Barry does so well, to both be played in that role together. You need a fall guy, an unsung. IMO anyway.

It's surely a line-up for games where there won't be much mopping up i.e. the opposition are going to park the bus and won't be able to get it off City. YaYa with Nasri and Silva would be like YaYa with Xavi and Iniesta.

This transfer is starting to grow some legs apparently

I'm hearing it could be a case of two strikers out, Van Persie coming in with Guidetti returning as fourth choice.

*Puts tin hat on and crawls back in the bunker

do you actually mean 4 out.... Adebayor & RSC plus 2?

Arsenal fans can breathe easy. Well, for six months at least anyway.

The vibe coming out of Arsenal suggests that Robin van Persie, linked with Manchester City, United and a host of others, will start the season as a fully-committed Arsenal player.

Whether that is the case in August 2013 remains to be seen. And it also depends on whether Arsenal are showing the ambitions that match his own.

Is Steve Sammers reliable?

The only thing that would worry me about van Persie seeing out his contract is you just know the scum would make a big push for him knowing he was available for free.

the only way rvp wont be a city player is if wenger gets his way with the arse board!! (which is unlikely!!)

Would love this^^^^^

Thumps desk and where is Martinez? :-) I would rather have him than RVp and only let one of our strikers go. Just my opinion.

Hart
Richards
Kompany
Thiago
Clichy

Martinez
Yaya
Nasri

Silva
Hazzard
Aguero.

Where's Lescott?

Seriously? when Thiago would be the replacement?

yep... seriously. Lescott has improved so much in the last 12 months... what's to say he wont improve even more. He has carried Vinnie at times... particularly in the early part of the season...

Transfer muppets....

I am praying we don't get Van pussy. Can't stand him and he is getting on. Rather go for someone young like we did with Kun who is already better than this guy.

I like it. No need for RVP. Use Hazzard as a Tevez replacement and hold onto the rest of the squad. 3 significant incomings 1 significant outgoing. Done until age catches up with Yaya.

Carried Vinnie? The player of the season? I mean come on. There is a having a good partnership, understanding and being able to rely on one and other and then there is ridiculous statements like that.

It's a simple choice between head and heart for Van Persie. If he goes with his heart he'll sign a new deal at Arsenal, he clearly loves it there and enjoys being the leader of the side, but deep down he knows they won't be signing the biggest names around and likely won't be winning the title for several years. If he goes with his head he'll leave for a legitimate challenger, of which City is certainly an option. I personally can see him going with his head, although I don't believe that will result in a move to City. I think it'll be head with an element of heart still involved, he'll leave Arsenal but I also feel he'll not be willing to leave them for another English side. I expect a move to either Spain or Italy for Van Persie.
