This is better when a little guy with long black hair and a tash ( Donald some one ) wearing a white suit played this ;-)
 
the NME used to do awards for best guitarist in the world. Clapton used to win it a lot. My favourite six would be:

Steve Hackett
Rory Gallagher
Jimmy Page
Jan Ackerman
Peter Green
Steve Howe

That’s a very good selection. Not heard any jan Ackerman (recommend anything?) and would add add Alex Lifeson
