Perhaps we are indeed signing someone from Barcelona.

*citykev28 yesterday gave a clue about us targeting someone from Barcelona. ( Possibilities : Pique, Fabregas, Villa )

*Rodney Marsh tweeted that we will be making a 75m-100m signing.

*Ian Abrahams from talkSPORT tweeted that we are in for Villa. ( Could be a smokescreen )

*Vilanova hinted that someone could be leaving Barcelona. ( From several Spanish journalists )

Could be Fabregas, since NDJ left.
Marsh did not say who would be making this signing. Unless he's tweeted again

Its either Chelsea or us, but I highly doubt that Chelsea will spend that much.

Busquets or Mascherano and Villa?

-- Fri Aug 31, 2012 11:42 am --

Fabregas?? The replacement for Xavi who Barca have been after for 3 years?

I doubt it!

Maybe it's Xavi! :D

It could be Mascherano as they have signed Song now.

Him and Villa or Fabregas would be amazing. Perfectly prepared for the CL.

Mascherano signed a new deal and is a starter there, at CB anyway.

I cannot see it being him, hope it is but it has mire chance being a fringe player if at all.

Alacantra is my bet.

i doubt Chelsea would make any more signigs since what happened to Ibrahmovich, Chelsea asked for ffp now lets see where it takes them.

Ballague says we aren't signing Villa.

Then we aren't signing Villa. :)

Still though based on all these reports it seems we are interested in a certain player from Barcelona.

It could be Fabregas. He looks to be struggling to get a game now.

Not sure, they spent so long trying to get hime back...

Thiago Alcântara and Pique, would that get to 100m in money and wages? Hmm this is making less and less sense... If it ever did :-)

Well Deadline Day is about dreaming...

Said that yesterday. Makes sense but only a year from his sale and Arsenal have buy back options. Can't see it.
Buy back options mean that whatever offer they accept from another club can be matched buy Arsenal and not turned down

There is no chance, after balking at the costs of Hazard and Martinez, that we will be spending £100m on deadline day.

that,s the going rate in this day and age mate........

I'm sure you're right, but it does seem a lot.

Pique must be worth around £20-25m.

Surely Villa isn't worth £75-80m?

Are we paying extra to get Shakira here for match days? I'd prefer that we keep Pike in City Square instead.

stephen fletcher - £15 m- i,ve got villa as 6 times better......vertonghen-£14m...i,ve got pique as 4 times better.....

Seems funny how when we are after signing players we accept your reasoning about valuations but when we sell players and mention the same reason about valuations (Johnson is better than Downing) we get shot down on the whole wage dispute.

Is there a possibility that Marsh is wrong, not talking about us and/or a wum, and we aren't signing any big player?
