Rodwell doing a Lakey

I am not sure about midfield to be honest.
He , as his name would suggest, is a Jack of all trades and is a fine athlete.

I use the example of Paul Lake as I can see a very similar scenario.Lakey played everywhere very well but once he settled at centre half he blossomed.

I tell you one thing , he will make a better centre half than Garcia for sure.

So would Aguero.

no need to tie someone down to one position is there? Versatility is key and I'm sure the likes of Pellegrini will be able to assess whether players like Rodwell would gain from playing at centre back or wherever. At worst, he's always an option there.

A bit like Kompany TB?
Yep.

Pace is the key for any (most) top class centre halfs.

Des Walker , Rio Ferdinand (spits), Keith Curle , Vincent Kompany et al.
Non of the above were / are Bobby Moore or Beckenbauer but the few mistakes they made were mostly covered up by their ability to switch on the after burners.

Lakey had this in abundance , so did Kevin McGragth.

I see this in Rodwell
